◆ 제천시·범시민추진위, 충북도청 방문해 건의

충북 제천시와 제천시 공공기관 유치 범시민추진위원회가 충북도에 제천 이전 필요성을 공식 전달했다. 제천시는 9일 충북도청에서 김영환 충북도지사를 만났다. 제천시는 제2차 공공기관 지방이전과 관련해 지역특화형 공공기관 이전을 건의했다. 김창규 제천시장과 최명현 추진위원장이 함께 참석했다. 두 사람은 민·관이 협력하는 '원팀' 체계를 강조했다.

◆ "철도 중심지 제천, 공공기관 이전 최적지"

김창규 제천시장은 충북 북부권 균형발전과 제천의 역사적 피해 보상 측면에서 제천 포함을 요청했다. 김 시장은 "제천은 철도화물 운송 거점이며 전국 최고 수준의 철도 정비 인프라를 갖춘 도시"라고 말했다. 김 시장은 "중앙선·충북선·태백선이 교차하는 철도 중심지"라고 설명했다. 김 시장은 "향후 충북선 고속화 이후 강호축 핵심 도시가 될 가능성이 높아 공공기관 이전 최적지"라고 강조했다.

◆ "바이오·천연물 산업 거점 제천"

최명현 추진위원장은 제천의 바이오·천연물 산업 역량을 부각했다. 최 위원장은 제천이 올해 제천국제한방천연물산업엑스포를 포함해 총 3차례 엑스포를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 최 위원장은 제천이 13차례 한방바이오박람회를 개최한 바이오·천연물 산업 거점이라고 강조했다.

Committee Chairman Choi Myung-hyun highlighted Jecheon's bio and natural product industry capabilities. Chairman Choi stated that Jecheon has hosted a total of 3 expos this year, including the Jecheon International Oriental Medicine and Natural Products Industry Expo. Chairman Choi emphasized that Jecheon is a bio and natural product industry hub that has hosted 13 Oriental Medicine Bio Fairs.
