◆ 충북도, 한전 본사 방문해 제도 개선 요구

충북도가 한국전력에 국가기간 송전망 제도 개선을 공식 요청했다. 이동옥 충북도 행정부지사와 곽현기 도민고충처리위원장은 9일 한국전력 본사를 방문했다. 두 사람은 서철수 전력계통 부사장을 만나 송전선로·개폐소 설치에 대한 도민 의견을 전달했다. 충북도는 송전망 구축 방식 개선을 요구했다.

◆ 제천·영동 등 주민 반발 거세져

최근 제천시·영동군 등 충북 북부·남부 지역에서 송전설비 설치 반대 여론이 확산하고 있다. 주민들은 전자파로 인한 건강권·환경권 침해를 우려한다. 재산권 침해와 삶의 질 저하도 호소한다. 주민들은 "비수도권 농촌 지역은 전력 공급 혜택은 적고 송전선만 통과하는 경유지 역할에 그친다"고 불만을 제기한다. 충북도는 면담에서 내륙 중심에 위치한 충북이 수도권 전력망의 주요 통로 역할을 해왔다고 지적했다. 충북도는 △절차 투명성 강화 △주민 참여 확대 △공정한 보상체계 마련 △생활환경 보전 대책 수립을 요구했다.

◆ "상생의 기회 되길"…정부·한전과 소통 지속

이동옥 부지사는 "국가 에너지 안정과 전력 수급의 중요성은 이해한다"고 말했다. 이 부지사는 "이제는 지역 공동체의 지속 가능성과 주민 삶의 질을 함께 고려하는 균형 있는 정책이 필요하다"고 강조했다. 이 부지사는 "충북도민의 목소리가 반영돼 국가 송전망 확대가 상생의 기회가 되길 바란다"고 덧붙였다. 충북도는 도민의 건강·환경·생계권 보호를 위해 적극 대응할 방침이다. 충북도는 국가 에너지 전환 정책과 조화를 이루도록 정부·한전과 소통을 이어간다.

◆ Resident opposition intensifies in Jecheon and Yeongdong

Recently, opposition to transmission facility installation has been spreading in northern and southern areas of Chungbuk, including Jecheon-si and Yeongdong-gun. Residents are concerned about health and environmental rights violations caused by electromagnetic waves. They also appeal about property rights violations and quality of life deterioration. Residents complain that "non-metropolitan rural areas receive few benefits from power supply and only serve as transit points for transmission lines." Chungbuk Province pointed out during the meeting that Chungbuk, located in the center of the inland, has served as a major corridor for power grids heading to the metropolitan area. Lee added, "I hope the voices of Chungbuk residents are reflected and the expansion of the national transmission network becomes an opportunity for coexistence." Chungbuk Province plans to actively respond to protect residents' health, environment, and livelihood rights. Chungbuk Province will continue communication with the government and KEPCO to harmonize with national energy transition policies.
