◆ 야간경관 조성 완료
청주시가 상당구 청주중앙공원에서 추진한 야간경관 조성 및 포토존 설치 사업을 8일 완료했다. 시는 2024년 12월부터 약 2개월간 이 사업을 진행했다. 중앙공원의 상징인 압각수와 주변 수목에 은은한 조명을 설치했다. 광장 등 주요 시설물에는 주변과 조화를 이루는 조명을 설치해 밤 시간 밝고 아름다운 이미지를 연출했다.
◆ 포토존·이색 조명으로 볼거리 확대
망선루 앞쪽에 포토존을 새로 조성했다. '천년의 사랑길'과 공원 입구 화단에는 이색적인 조명을 활용했다. 이번 조명 설치로 중앙공원은 야간에도 시민들이 머물고 즐길 수 있는 도심 휴식처로 기능하게 됐다.
◆ 야간관광 활성화·인근 상권 활성화 기대
야간관광 활성화는 물론 인근 성안길 상권에도 긍정적인 영향이 예상된다. 청주시 관계자는 "중앙공원은 청주 역사와 문화유산의 중심지이지만 해가 지면 야간 이용에 한계가 있었다"며 "앞으로 낮에는 역사문화공원으로, 밤에는 현대적 야간 명소로 운영 관리하겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Night Landscape Project Completed
Cheongju City completed a night landscape project and photo zone installation at Cheongju Central Park in Sangdang-gu on December 8th. The city conducted the project over approximately two months starting in December 2024. Soft lighting was installed on Apgaksu, the symbolic tree of Central Park, and surrounding vegetation. Complementary lighting that harmonizes with the surroundings was installed on plazas and major facilities, creating a bright and beautiful nighttime image.
◆ Expanded Attractions Through Photo Zones and Distinctive Lighting
A new photo zone was created in front of Mangseonru. Distinctive lighting was applied to "Thousand-Year Love Road" and the park entrance flower beds. With this lighting installation, Central Park now functions as an urban rest area where citizens can stay and enjoy activities even during nighttime hours.
◆ Anticipated Activation of Night Tourism and Adjacent Commercial Districts
Night tourism activation is expected, along with positive impacts on nearby Seongan Street commercial areas. A Cheongju City official stated, "Central Park is the center of Cheongju's history and cultural heritage, but had limitations for nighttime use after sunset. Moving forward, we will manage the park as a historical and cultural space during the day and as a modern evening destination at night."
