1일 오후 1시 28분께 충남 금산군 군북면 천을리 야산에서 산불이 발생했다.
산림당국은 산불진화헬기 3대와 산불진화차량 17대, 진화대원 42명을 긴급 투입했다. 화재 발생 30분 만인 오후 1시 58분께 주불 진화를 완료했다.
당국은 잔불 정리 등 진화 작업이 완전히 마무리되는 대로 산불조사감식반을 투입해 정확한 피해 면적과 재산 피해 규모를 조사할 방침이다.
산림청 중앙산림재난상황실 관계자는 "작은 불씨도 대형 산불로 확산할 위험이 큰 시기인 만큼 쓰레기나 영농 부산물 불법 소각 행위를 금지해 달라"고 강조했다.
이어 "고의가 아닌 실수로 산불을 내더라도 산림보호법 제53조에 따라 3년 이하 징역 또는 3000만 원 이하 벌금에 처해질 수 있다"며 각별한 주의를 당부했다.

A forest fire broke out on a mountain in Cheoneul-ri, Gunbuk-myeon, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do at around 1:28 p.m. on the 1st.

The official added, "Even if a forest fire is caused by accident rather than intent, you may face up to 3 years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million won under Article 53 of the Forest Protection Act," urging special caution.
