충북 단양군 단양야간학교가 25년간 만학도 졸업생 200명을 돌파했다.

단양군과 단양성인문해센터는 1일 지난달 27일 제25회 졸업식에서 2025년 1차·2차 검정고시 합격자 8명이 졸업장을 받았다고 밝혔다.

단양야간학교는 2000년 문을 열었다. 자원봉사자 교사들이 배움의 시기를 놓친 한글 미해독자와 초·중·고교 검정고시 과정 학생을 대상으로 무료 교육을 진행한다.

제25회 졸업생을 포함해 누적 졸업생은 201명이다.

이상곤 교장은 "재능나눔 교사 20여 명과 함께 만학의 길로 들어선 주민들을 위해 365일 단양야간학교 문을 열어놓고 있다"며 "배움의 시작은 작은 용기에서 시작하니 언제든 용기를 내달라"고 말했다.

Danyang-gun and Danyang Adult Literacy Center announced on the 1st that eight students who passed the 2025 first and second qualification examinations received diplomas at the 25th graduation ceremony held on the 27th of last month.

Danyang Night School opened in 2000. Volunteer teachers provide free education to Korean illiterate individuals who missed their chance to learn and students preparing for elementary, middle, and high school qualification examinations.

Including the 25th graduating class, the cumulative number of graduates reached 201.

Principal Lee Sang-gon said, "We keep Danyang Night School open 365 days a year for residents who have embarked on the path of late learning, along with about 20 talent-sharing teachers." He added, "Learning starts with a little courage, so please summon that courage anytime."
