충북대학교와 한국교통대학교가 글로컬대학30 추진 여부를 놓고 구성원 찬반투표를 실시한다.

양 대학은 1일 투표 공고를 통해 오는 3일 오후 2시부터 4일 오후 6시까지 교원·직원·학생을 대상으로 온라인 찬반투표를 진행한다고 밝혔다.

충북대는 3일 오전 10시 대학본부 3층 대강연실에서 온·오프라인 설명회를 동시에 개최한다.

교통대는 교원·직원·학생 3주체 모두 투표 요건 충족 시 통합신청서를 제출한다는 방침이다. 양 대학은 11일 제11차 통합심의위원회에 투표 결과를 포함한 보완신청서를 제출할 계획이다.

양 대학은 2023년 11월 교육부 글로컬대학으로 지정됐다. 2024년 6월 통합에 합의하고 교육부에 통합신청서를 제출했으나 최근까지 통합이 지연됐다.

글로컬대학30은 교육부가 2027년까지 비수도권 대학 30곳을 지정해 5년간 1000억 원을 지원하는 사업이다.

Chungbuk National University and Korea National University of Transportation will hold a member vote on whether to proceed with the Glocal University 30 project.

Both universities announced on the 1st that they will conduct an online vote for faculty, staff, and students from 2 p.m. on the 3rd to 6 p.m. on the 4th.

Chungbuk National University will hold an online and offline briefing session simultaneously at 10 a.m. on the 3rd in the main auditorium on the 3rd floor of the administration building.

Korea National University of Transportation plans to submit the merger application if all three groups—faculty, staff, and students—meet voting requirements. Both universities plan to submit a supplementary application including voting results to the 11th Merger Review Committee on the 11th.

Both universities were designated as Glocal Universities by the Ministry of Education in November 2023. They agreed to merge in June 2024 and submitted a merger application to the Ministry of Education, but the merger has been delayed until recently.

Glocal University 30 is a project in which the Ministry of Education designates 30 non-capital area universities by 2027 and provides 100 billion won in support over five years.
