신창중학교(교장 백재흠)는 11월 27일 3학년 학생 전원을 대상으로 외부 전문강사 초청 성교육을 각 교실에서 실시했다. 교육은 또래관계에서 발생하는 성폭력을 예방하고 타인을 존중하는 태도 형성에 중점을 뒀다.
강사는 성폭력을 신체 접촉, 언어적 괴롭힘, 시각적 대상화, 디지털 기기를 통한 촬영 및 유포로 분류해 설명했다. 강사는 "성폭력은 피해자가 불쾌함을 느끼는 순간부터 시작된다"고 강조하며, 학생들이 상대방 감정을 존중하고 일상에서 경계를 인식해야 함을 언급했다. 수업은 가해자, 피해자, 방관자의 역할과 책임을 다뤘으며, 학생들은 방관자의 침묵이 피해 확대를 초래할 수 있다는 점을 학습했다.
백재흠 교장은 "이번 교육은 존중과 배려를 기반으로 한 또래관계 형성을 도왔다"며 "앞으로 학생 성 인권 감수성을 높이는 교육을 지속하겠다"고 밝혔다.
