농림어업총조사는 농업·임업·어업 경영 가구의 규모와 구조, 분포 특성을 5년마다 파악하는 국가 공식 통계다. 11월 20일부터 12월 10일까지는 온라인 조사 진행 중이며, 12월 1~22일은 조사원이 각 가구를 직접 방문해 면접조사를 실시한다. 조사 대상은 2025년 12월 1일 현재 논산시 관내 모든 농가·임가·어가다.
백성현 시장은 28일 교육장에서 "조사의 성패는 조사원에게 달렸다"며 "정확한 통계가 시민 정책으로 연결되도록, 안전을 최우선으로 현장조사에 임해달라"고 강조했다. 시 관계자는 "정확한 통계 생산은 지역 발전 정책의 근간"이라며 "조사원 방문 시 각 가구의 적극 참여와 협조를 당부한다"고 밝혔다.

Nonsan City has laid the groundwork for a successful 2025 Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Survey. Under Mayor Baek Sung-hyun's leadership, the city conducted intensive training for 115 surveyors from November 27-28 at Nonsan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. The training covered survey procedures, questionnaire completion, personal information protection, field safety protocols, and equipment practice sessions. Participating surveyors received detailed instruction on precautions when visiting households and procedures for protecting respondent information.
The Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Survey is an official national statistic conducted every five years to identify the scale, structure, distribution, and characteristics of households operating agricultural, forestry, and fishing enterprises. Online surveys are ongoing from November 20 through December 10, while surveyors will conduct face-to-face interviews from December 1-22 by visiting each household. The survey targets all farming, forestry, and fishing households in Nonsan as of December 1, 2025.
Mayor Baek Sung-hyun emphasized on November 28 at the training site: "The success of this survey depends on the surveyors. Conduct the field survey with safety as the top priority so that accurate statistics can translate into policies for citizens." A city official stated: "Accurate statistical production is the foundation of regional development policy," and requested "active participation and cooperation from each household when surveyors visit."
