◆ 5개 산단 개발, 우량 기업 연쇄 유치
진천군 산업단지 인프라가 가시적 성과를 내고 있다. 2025년 10월 기준 군 내 기업 수는 1,285개로 충청북도 내 3번째 규모다. 현재 5개 신규 산단을 동시에 조성 중이다.
이월면 사당리 일원 진천 테크노폴리스 산단(806,611㎡)은 2,178억원을 투입해 2019년부터 추진됐다. 2026년 상반기 준공 예정이며, ㈜오리온 등 대형 제조업체가 입주하며 분양율 100%를 달성했다.
문백면 은탄리 진천 메가폴리스 산단(1,454,545㎡)은 2023년 8월 산업단지계획 승인 이후 토지보상협의를 진행 중이다. 초평면 은암리 진천 초평산단(1,223,140㎡)은 2024년 1월 지정계획 고시 이후 환경영향평가·인허가 절차를 밟고 있다. 진천읍 장관리 진천 장관산단(495,867㎡)은 2024년 4월 지정, 9월 산업단지계획 승인 신청 단계다.
◆ 기업 지원 시책 대폭 강화
진천군은 기업 경쟁력을 높이기 위한 맞춤형 지원을 펼친다. 제조물책임 보험 지원(1,900만원), 중소기업 수출물류비 지원(1,900만원), 기업 홍보영상 제작지원(2,800만원), 중소기업 수출보험료 지원(1,900만원), 중소기업 특허출원 지원(2,000만원), 중소기업육성자금 이자보전(약 2,700만원) 등을 운영한다.
근로자 정주 여건 개선을 위해 기업 정주여건 개선(38,600만원), 중소기업 근로자 기숙사 임차비 지원(10,600만원)도 추진 중이다.
◆ 제조 AI 플랫폼 구축, 스마트팩토리 본격화
진천군은 올해 상반기 중소벤처기업부 '지역특화 제조데이터 활성화사업' 공모에 최종 선정됐다. 충청북도, 충북테크노파크, 청주시, 충주시, 음성군과 협약을 체결했으며 2027년까지 총사업비 119억원(진천군 6억원)을 투입해 제조 AI 플랫폼을 구축한다.
이를 통해 군은 제조 현장의 AI 전환을 본격화한다. 소기업형 스마트공장 구축 지원, 스마트공장 보급확산 사업을 지속 추진해 지역 제조업 경쟁력을 고도화한다는 방침이다.
김의년 군 기업지원과장은 "기업이 경쟁력을 가져야 지역 발전이 가능하다"며 "현장 의견을 청취해 기업 애로사항 해결에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Five Industrial Complexes Under Development, Attracting Premium Companies
Jincheon County's industrial complex infrastructure is delivering tangible results. As of October 2025, the county had 1,285 companies, the third-largest scale in North Chungcheong Province. The county currently develops five new industrial complexes simultaneously.
Jincheon Technopolis Industrial Complex in Sadang-ri, Iweol-myeon (806,611㎡) has been promoted since 2019 with 21.78 billion won invested. Scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026, major manufacturers including Orion Co., Ltd. moved in, achieving 100% leasing. Jincheon Megalopolis Industrial Complex in Euntan-ri, Munbaek-myeon (1,454,545㎡) approved its industrial complex plan in August 2023 and currently processes land compensation negotiations. Jincheon Chopyeong Industrial Complex in Eunam-ri, Chopyeong-myeon (1,223,140㎡) was designated in January 2024 and undergoes environmental impact assessment and licensing procedures. Jincheon Janggwan Industrial Complex in Janggwan-ri, Jincheon-eup (495,867㎡) was designated in April 2024 and submitted industrial complex plan approval in September 2024.
◆ Corporate Support Measures Substantially Strengthened
Jincheon County implements customized support to enhance business competitiveness. Programs include product liability insurance support (19 million won), small and medium enterprise export logistics cost support (19 million won), corporate promotional video production support (28 million won), SME export insurance premium support (19 million won), SME patent application support (20 million won), and SME development fund interest subsidy (approximately 27 million won).
To improve worker residential conditions, the county promotes enterprise residential improvement programs (386 million won) and SME worker dormitory rental support (106 million won).
◆ Manufacturing AI Platform Construction, Smart Factory Full-Scale Launch
Jincheon County was selected in the first half of this year for the Small and Medium Business Administration's "Regional Specialized Manufacturing Data Activation Project" competition. The county signed agreements with North Chungcheong Province, Chungbuk Technopark, Cheongju, Chungju, and Eumseong County, investing 11.9 billion won total (600 million won from Jincheon County) through 2027 to construct a manufacturing AI platform.
The county accelerates AI transformation in manufacturing facilities through this initiative. It continues implementing small business smart factory construction support and smart factory expansion programs to upgrade regional manufacturing competitiveness. Kim Ui-nyeon, director of Jincheon County's Business Support Division, stated, "Companies must have competitiveness for regional development," adding, "The county will make every effort to address corporate challenges by listening to field opinions."
