충북참여자치시민연대는 29일 "청주시는 동 지역 하수도 요금을 20% 인하하고, 하수도 시설 적정성을 점검할 전담 태스크포스(TF)를 구성해야 한다"고 주장했다.

이 단체는 이날 청주시청 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열었다.

단체는 "청주시 동 지역 하수도 요금은 ㎥(톤)당 1140원"이라며 "이는 20㎥ 이하 구간에서 인구 50만 이상의 19개 시 지역 중 가장 높은 요금"이라고 지적했다.

단체는 "20% 인하해도 ㎥당 912원으로 여전히 인구 50만 이상 대도시 중 가장 높다"고 말했다.

단체는 "높은 요금을 받아 보유 자금을 쌓아 놓기보다 주민의 삶을 지원하는 것이 합리적"이라고 강조했다.

단체는 "자금 여력이 있으면 사업 효율성이 떨어질 가능성이 높다"며 "하수처리 시설의 적정성 등을 종합적으로 평가할 수 있는 전담 TF를 구성해 운영해야 한다"고 덧붙였다.

시 관계자는 "하수도 요금 인상률을 최소로 하고 요금 현실화를 개선하기 위해 비용 절감 방안 등을 검토하겠다"고 말했다.

충북참여연대가 이날 발표한 자료에 따르면 2025년도 청주시 동 지역 하수도 요금은 ㎥(톤)당 1140원이다.

20㎥ 이하 구간에서 시를 제외한 인구 50만 이상 도시의 요금은 ㎥(톤)당 300원(경기 안산)에서 840원(경기 시흥)의 분포를 보였다.

청주시 하수도 요금 현실화율은 2015년 40.6%에서 지난해 70.7%를 기록했다. 요금 현실화율은 서비스를 제공하는 데 드는 실제 비용 대비 징수하는 비율을 뜻한다.

이 기간 당기순손익은 –255억 원에서 –70억 원으로 개선됐다.

시 하수도특별회계부채는 291억 원에서 141억 원으로 지속적으로 감소했다. 지난해 일반회계 전입금은 0원이었다.

장기대여금은 2024년 누적액 715억 원을 기록했다.

According to data released by Chungbuk Participatory Solidarity on this day, the 2025 Cheongju City dong area sewage fee is 1,140 won per ㎥ (ton).

In the 20㎥ or less section, fees in cities with a population of over 500,000 excluding Si ranged from 300 won per ㎥ (ton) (Ansan, Gyeonggi) to 840 won (Siheung, Gyeonggi).

Cheongju City's sewage fee realization rate was 40.6% in 2015 and recorded 70.7% last year. The fee realization rate refers to the ratio of collection to the actual cost of providing services.

During this period, net profit and loss improved from -25.5 billion won to -7 billion won.

The city's sewage special account debt continuously decreased from 29.1 billion won to 14.1 billion won. Last year's general account transfer was 0 won.

Long-term loans recorded a cumulative amount of 71.5 billion won in 2024.
