◆입지선정 위원회 앞 1인 시위 나서
제천시의회(의장 박영기)가 29일 산업통상자원부와 한국전력공사가 추진 중인 '신평창~신원주 송전선로 건설사업' 입지선정 위원회 회의 현장 앞에서 "송전선로 제천경유 결사반대" 1인 시위를 벌였다. 이번 시위는 한전이 주민 의견 수렴 절차를 형식적으로만 진행하고 실제로는 일방적으로 사업을 추진하고 있다는 모순된 구조를 지적하기 위해 마련됐다.
◆"제천 경유는 주민 생존권 위협"
박영기 의장은 "제천은 강원 영서권이나 용인 반도체 클러스터 전력 공급과 직접적인 연관이 없다"고 말했다. 그는 "제천을 경유하는 것은 주민의 안전과 생존권을 위협하는 송전선로 건설은 절대 용납할 수 없다"고 밝혔다. 제천시의회는 지난 22일 '신평창~신원주 송전선로 건설사업 제천시 경유 결사 반대 성명서'를 통해 해당 사업의 절차적 정당성 결여와 지역 발전 저해를 지적하고 사업 백지화를 촉구했다.
◆시민과 함께 대응 방안 모색
제천시의회는 앞으로도 시민과 함께 대응 방안을 모색하며 송전선로 건설 계획 철회를 위해 모든 노력을 다할 방침이다.

On the 22nd, the Jecheon City Council issued a "Statement of Resolute Opposition to the Sinpyeongchang~Sinwonju Transmission Line Construction Project Routing Through Jecheon City," pointing out the lack of procedural legitimacy and obstruction of regional development, and strongly urging the project's cancellation.
◆Seeking Response Measures Together with Citizens
The Jecheon City Council plans to continue seeking response measures together with citizens and make every effort to withdraw the transmission line construction plan.
