세종특별자치시는 22일부터 다음달 2일까지 박연문화관 전시실에서 서예와 한글을 결합한 '취석(翠石) 송하진전'을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 세종시가 주최하고 세종문화관광재단이 주관하는 이번 전시는 한글의 아름다움을 예술로 승화시키는 과정을 보여주고 한글서예의 현대적 방향성을 제시하기 위해 기획됐다. 전시에서는 60여 점의 작품을 선보이며 한글의 조형적 아름다움을 알린다.

◆ 송하진 작가, 한글서예 새 방향 개척...가로쓰기 작품 등 선보여

취석 송하진 작가는 한글서예의 새로운 방향을 개척하고 있는 서예가로, 한자 중심의 전통 서예에서 벗어나 한글을 중심으로 한 작품 활동을 펼치고 있다. 그는 한글의 구조와 운율, 필력의 에너지를 회화적으로 표현하면서 한글서예를 현대 예술의 한 장르로 확장시키고 있다. 특히 '한국서예의 주인은 한글이어야 한다'는 작가의 철학을 바탕으로 한 한글의 어순에 맞춘 가로쓰기 작품 등 새로운 서예를 느낄 수 있다.

◆ 무료 관람...오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 운영

Artist Chui-seok Song Ha-jin is a calligrapher pioneering a new direction in Hangeul calligraphy, developing works centered on Hangeul, departing from traditional calligraphy centered on Chinese characters. He is expanding Hangeul calligraphy into a genre of contemporary art by expressing the structure, rhythm, and energy of brushwork of Hangeul pictorially. In particular, visitors can experience new calligraphy through horizontal writing works aligned with Hangeul word order based on the artist's philosophy that 'the owner of Korean calligraphy should be Hangeul.'

◆ Free admission...Operating from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
