진천군, 목재펠릿 보일러 19대 보급 추진 난방비 절감·탄소중립 실현 목표…주택 16대·복지시설 3대 설치

충북 진천군이 목재펠릿 보일러 보급 지원사업을 추진한다고 16일 밝혔다.

이 사업은 농촌 주택과 마을회관, 복지시설 등 난방 취약시설을 대상으로 펠릿보일러 설치비를 지원한다. 친환경 에너지 이용 활성화와 지속 가능한 산림자원 순환 체계 구축이 목표다.

온실가스 배출 적고 난방비 절감 효과

펠릿보일러는 톱밥, 가지, 미이용 산림 부산물 등을 압축해 만든 목재펠릿을 연료로 사용하는 친환경 난방기기다. 기존 등유나 경유 보일러에 비해 온실가스 배출이 적고 난방비 절감 효과도 뛰어나다.

군은 이번 사업을 통해 지역 내 미이용 목재자원의 활용도를 높이고, 지역 목재 산업단지와 펠릿 생산업체 간 협력체계를 강화할 방침이다. 지역경제 활성화에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

하반기까지 19대 설치 목표

반승영 산림보호팀장은 "펠릿보일러 보급은 단순한 난방 지원사업이 아니라, 탄소중립과 순환경제 실현을 위한 전략 중 하나"라며 "앞으로도 주민 생활과 밀접한 친환경 에너지 보급사업을 확대해 나가겠다"고 말했다.

군은 올해 하반기까지 총 19대(주택용 16대, 사회복지용 3대)의 펠릿보일러 설치를 목표로 사업을 추진 중이다. 향후 지속적인 예산 확보를 통해 보급대상을 단계적으로 확대할 계획이다.

Through this project, the county plans to increase the utilization of unused wood resources in the region and strengthen the cooperative system between local wood industrial complexes and pellet producers. It is expected to contribute to regional economic revitalization.

Target of 19 Units by Second Half of Year

Ban Seung-young, head of the Forest Protection Team, said, "The supply of pellet boilers is not just a heating support project, but one of the strategies to realize carbon neutrality and circular economy," adding, "We will continue to expand eco-friendly energy supply projects closely related to residents' lives."

The county is promoting the project with a goal of installing a total of 19 pellet boilers (16 for residential use, 3 for social welfare use) by the second half of this year. It plans to gradually expand the supply targets through continuous budget securing in the future.
