청주시가 상당구 대성동 155-14 일원 용담로 일부 구간에서 도로 확장 사업을 추진한다고 16일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 총예산 300억원을 투입해 이화아파트 인근 0.71km 구간을 기존 폭 15m에서 25m로 확장하는 사업이다.

탑동힐데스하임 아파트 입주로 교통체증 심화

탑동힐데스하임 아파트 입주 등 주변 여건 변화로 교통체증이 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 시는 도로 확장을 통해 도심 내 병목 현상으로 인한 교통체증을 해소하고자 사업을 기획했다.

내년 하반기까지 실시설계 완료

시는 지난 9월 실시설계 용역에 착수했다. 내년 하반기까지 설계를 완료할 계획이다. 이후 순차적으로 예산을 확보해 보상 및 공사를 추진해 2030년까지 마무리하는 것을 목표로 한다.

시 관계자는 "해당 사업은 동 주민과의 대화 시 건의되었던 사항으로, 주민숙원사업인 용담로 확장공사가 조속히 마무리될 수 있도록 사업 추진에 최선을 다할 것"이라고 말했다.

A city official said, "This project was suggested during dialogue with residents of the dong, and we will do our best to promote the project so that the Yongdam-ro expansion construction, which is a long-cherished project of residents, can be completed as soon as possible."
