제천시는 지난 13일 시청 청풍호실에서 김창규 시장 주재로 국장 및 직속기관장, 부서장이 참석한 가운데 2026년 주요업무계획 보고회를 개최했다.
민선8기 성과 돌아보고 내년 계획 보고
이번 보고회는 민선8기 후반기 시점에 시가 역점적으로 추진해왔던 사업 성과를 돌아보고, 시정을 이끌어갈 부서별 주요업무계획 보고를 주요 내용으로 진행되었다.
단기·장기 시정방향 제시
내년도 시정방향은 단기적으로 지금까지 구축해 온 성장 발판을 통해 시정 분야별 연계효과를 더욱더 확산시키고, 공약사업 및 핵심사업의 차질 없는 마무리, 시민이 체감하는 변화 완성, 혁신적 정책 발굴 등에 집중해 나가고,
장기적으로 그동안 시가 추진해 온 투자유치, 권역별 관광개발을 두 축으로 투자유치 4조 원 달성, 1,500만 문화·관광시대를 목표로 두 배 잘사는 경제 도시 제천 실현 기반을 착실히 완수해 나간다는 것이다.

김창규 제천시장은 "민선8기 4년차로 역동적이고 새로운 경제도시 제천을 만들기 위해 쉼 없이 달려왔다면서, 시간이 지나면서 시정이 결실을 맺고 눈에 띄는 변화를 이뤄낸 것은 시민분들과 전 공직자가 한마음으로 노력한 결과"라며 "2026년에도 제천의 미래 성장 동력 창출과 지속가능한 도시 발전 기반을 확실히 다지는데 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
정부 평가 우수사례 다수 선정
최근 제천시는 정부 및 외부기관 평가에서 다수의 우수사례로 선정(고려인, 투자유치, 스포츠마케팅, 경로당점심제공사업) 되는 등 지역발전과 행정혁신에서 대외적으로 인정받고 있으며,
올해 기계체조, 롤러선수권대회, 제천국제음악영화제, 제천국제한방천연물산업엑스포 등 다양한 국제행사를 성공적으로 개최하며 경제 활성화와 도시 브랜드 향상을 함께 달성했다는 평가를 받고 있다.

It is evaluated that this year it successfully hosted various international events such as artistic gymnastics, roller championships, Jecheon International Music Film Festival, and Jecheon International Oriental Medicine Natural Products Industry Expo, achieving both economic revitalization and urban brand improvement.
