세종시교육청과 공영홈쇼핑 최우수기관 표창 기념촬영/세종특별자치시교육청
세종특별자치시교육청(교육감 권한대행 부교육감 천범산)은 「2024년 공공기관 등 공문서 등 평가」에서 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다고 13일 밝혔다.
세종시교육청은 10월 11일 광화문광장에서 열리는 '2025 한글한마당 기념행사'에서 문화체육관광부 장관 표창을 받는다.
「국어기본법」제14조에 근거한 이 평가는 공공기관의 쉽고 바른 우리말 사용을 촉진하기 위해 실시하는 것이다. 문화체육관광부는 2024년부터 교육청과 공공기관으로 평가 대상을 확대했다.
문화체육관광부는 대상 기관(시도교육청 17개, 공공기관 118개)의 누리집에 게시된 보도자료를 월별로 3건씩 무작위로 추출한 뒤, 용이성과 정확성을 평가해 그 결과를 문화체육관광부 누리집에 공개했다.
세종시교육청은 첫 번째로 진행된 2024년 평가에서 어려운 외국어·외국문자, 잘못된 표현을 가장 적게 사용했다는 평가를 받았다.
세종시교육청은 소통담당관을 국어책임관으로 지정하고, 소속 직원의 바른 공공언어 사용 문화를 조성하기 위해 다양한 노력을 했다.
우리말 바로쓰기 홍보 동영상 「정선생님의 가나다라학교」 제작(6편), 「국어문화학교」 운영(연 6회, 세종시청 협업), 매월 9일 「한글의 날」 지정 및 운영, 10월 「한글의 달」 행사('도전! 내가 바로 한글왕'), 「보도의 달인」 선정(상하반기) 등이 그 예다.
김혜덕 소통담당관은 "이번 우수 기관 선정은 그동안 우리 교육청 전 직원이 바른 공공언어 사용 문화를 만들기 위해 노력해 온 결과"라며 "앞으로도 학생, 학부모, 시민이 교육 정책을 쉽게 이해하고 신뢰할 수 있도록 바른 공공언어 사용에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.

The Sejong Special Self-Governing City Office of Education (Acting Superintendent of Education, Vice Superintendent of Education Cheon Beom-san) announced on the 13th that it was selected as the best institution in the "2024 Public Institution Official Document Evaluation."

This evaluation, based on Article 14 of the 「National Language Basic Act」, is conducted to promote the use of easy and correct Korean by public institutions. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism expanded the evaluation targets to education offices and public institutions starting in 2024.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism randomly selected three press releases posted on the websites of target institutions (17 city and provincial education offices and 118 public institutions) per month, evaluated their ease of use and accuracy, and published the results on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism website.
The Sejong City Office of Education was evaluated as using the least difficult foreign languages, foreign characters, and incorrect expressions in the first 2024 evaluation.
The Sejong City Office of Education designated the communication officer as the Korean language officer and made various efforts to create a culture of correct public language use among its employees.
Examples include the production of promotional videos for correct Korean usage 「Teacher Jung's Ganadarahakgyo」 (6 episodes), operation of 「Korean Culture School」 (6 times a year, collaboration with Sejong City Hall), designation and operation of 「Hangul Day」 on the 9th of every month, 「Hangul Month」 event in October ('Challenge! I am the Hangul King'), and selection of 「Reporting Master」 (first and second half of the year).
Kim Hye-deok, communication officer, said, "This selection as an excellent institution is the result of all employees of our education office working hard to create a culture of correct public language use," and "We will continue to do our best to use correct public language so that students, parents, and citizens can easily understand and trust education policies."
