서승우(58) 국민의힘 상당구당협위원장이 13일 청주시청 브리핑룸에서 청주시장 출마를 선언하며 수도권 생활폐기물의 청주·충북 반입에 전면 반대 입장을 밝혔다.

서 예비후보는 "수도권 직매립 금지 이후 서울·경기 생활폐기물이 민간 소각시설을 통해 청주로 유입되고 있다"며 "이는 협약이 아니라 책임 회피"라고 비판했다.

서 예비후보는 "수도권 쓰레기는 수도권에서 처리해야 한다"며 "청주는 수도권 쓰레기 뒤처리 장소가 아니라 아이들이 숨 쉬며 자랄 도시"라고 강조했다.
