반기문 평화기념관, 여성 인권 조명 기획전시 개최.사진/음성군

음성군 제8대 유엔사무총장 반기문 평화기념관이 6월 7일까지 16회 기획전시 '여성, 삶을 이끌다:사랑&헌신'을 연다.

◆ 여성 인권 가치 조명하는 30여 점 전시

기념관은 인류의 지속 가능한 발전과 평화에 필수적인 여성 인권의 가치를 조명한다. 전시는 공동체 삶을 위한 여성들의 사랑과 헌신 이야기를 담았다. 케냐의 사랑의 원 조각상, 짐바브웨의 어머니와 아이들 조각상, 미국 다큐멘터리 사진작가 브라이언 소콜(Brian Sokol)과 벨기에-콩고 출신 키토 음비앙고(Kito Mbiango)의 작품 등 회화, 조각품 30여 점을 공개한다. 소장품들은 반기문 전 총장의 여성 인권 증진과 역량 강화 노력에 대한 국제사회의 공감과 감사를 담았다.

◆ 반기문 전 총장의 여성 인권 증진 활동 소개

전시는 여성 인권 향상과 성평등에 앞장선 반기문 전 유엔사무총장의 주요 활동과 업적을 소개한다. 반기문 전 총장은 재임 기간 여성의 교육과 경제활동 참여를 지지하고 여성 폭력 근절을 위한 국제 협력을 주도했다. 유엔여성기구 창설, 성평등 캠페인 히포쉬(HeForShe) 추진, 여성 폭력 근절을 위한 단결(Unite) 캠페인 등 5가지 주요 성과를 전시한다. 기념관은 "여성의 권리 보장 없이는 지속 가능한 발전과 평화가 불가능하다"는 반기문 전 총장의 신념을 재조명한다.

◆ 기획전시실에서 무료 관람

◆ 30 Collections Highlighting Women's Rights Values

The memorial hall highlights the value of women's rights essential for sustainable development and peace of humanity. The exhibition contains stories of women's love and dedication for community life. The hall displays about 30 paintings and sculptures including Kenya's Circle of Love sculpture, Zimbabwe's Mother and Children sculpture, and works by American documentary photographer Brian Sokol and Belgian-Congolese artist Kito Mbiango. The collections contain the international community's sympathy and gratitude for former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's efforts to promote women's rights and strengthen capabilities.

◆ Introduction to Former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's Women's Rights Activities

The exhibition introduces major activities and achievements of former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon who led women's rights improvement and gender equality. Former Secretary-General Ban supported women's education and economic participation during his tenure and led international cooperation to eradicate violence against women. The exhibition displays five major achievements including the establishment of UN Women, promotion of the gender equality campaign HeForShe, and the Unite campaign to end violence against women. The memorial hall re-illuminates former Secretary-General Ban's belief that "sustainable development and peace are impossible without guaranteeing women's rights."

◆ Free Viewing at Special Exhibition Hall

Viewing takes place at the 2nd floor special exhibition hall of Ban Ki-moon Peace Memorial Hall from 9 AM to 6 PM. Admission closes at 5 PM. Admission is free.
