당진시(시장 오성환)가 2026년도 자동차세 연납 신청을 2월 2일까지 접수한다고 1월 13일 밝혔다.
◆연납 시 5% 세액 공제
자동차세 연납 제도는 6월과 12월 정기 부과되는 자동차세를 미리 납부하면 연세액의 일정 비율을 공제하는 제도다. 1월 연납 시 2월부터 12월분 자동차세의 5%를 공제받는다. 1월분은 공제 대상에서 제외된다.
지난해 연납한 차량은 변동 사항이 없으면 별도 신청 없이 1월 중 납부서가 주소지나 사업장으로 발송된다. 연납 후 소유권 이전이나 폐차 시 소유 기간만큼 일할 계산해 남은 세액을 환급받는다.
◆야간 세무민원실 운영
납부 방법은 당진시청 세무과나 읍면동 행정복지센터 방문, 전화 신청이 가능하다. 금융기관, 위택스, 지로, 가상계좌, ARS 신용카드(142-211) 등으로 납부할 수 있다.
당진시는 평일 방문이 어려운 시민을 위해 1월 21일과 28일 오후 6시부터 8시까지 시청 1층 세무과 43번과 44번 창구에서 야간 세무민원실을 운영한다.
김인식 세무과장은 "연납은 한 번의 납부로 세액공제 혜택과 납부 편의를 동시에 누릴 수 있는 제도"라며 "대상 차량 소유자는 기간 내 연납 신청해 절세 혜택을 받기 바란다"고 말했다.

Dangjin City (Mayor Oh Seong-hwan) announced on January 13 that it will accept 2026 vehicle tax annual prepayment applications until February 2.
◆5% Tax Deduction for Annual Prepayment
The vehicle tax annual prepayment system deducts a certain percentage of the annual tax amount when taxpayers pay in advance the vehicle tax that is regularly imposed in June and December. Prepaying the annual vehicle tax in January provides a 5% deduction on vehicle tax from February to December. January tax is excluded from the deduction.
Vehicles that prepaid last year will receive payment notices at their address or business location in January without separate application if there are no changes. If ownership is transferred or the vehicle is scrapped after annual prepayment, taxpayers receive a refund of the remaining tax amount calculated on a pro-rata basis for the ownership period.
◆Night Tax Service Office Operation
Payment methods include visiting Dangjin City Hall Tax Division or town and township administrative welfare centers, or applying by phone. Payments can be made through financial institutions, Wetax, Giro, virtual accounts, and ARS credit card (142-211).
Dangjin City will operate a night tax service office at windows 43 and 44 of the Tax Division on the first floor of City Hall from 6 PM to 8 PM on January 21 and 28 for citizens who have difficulty visiting during weekdays.
Tax Division Director Kim In-sik said, "Annual prepayment is a system that allows taxpayers to enjoy both tax deduction benefits and payment convenience with a single payment," adding, "We hope vehicle owners will apply for annual prepayment within the period to receive tax saving benefits."
