◆ 울란바토르시 교장단 38명 보령 방문
보령시는 9일 시청 중회의실에서 몽골 울란바토르시 교장단 및 교육 관계자 38명을 맞이하는 환영 간담회를 개최했다. 이번 간담회는 보령시와 울란바토르시 간 청소년 교육 및 문화 교류 증진 방안을 협의하기 위해 마련됐다.
간담회는 보령시 부시장 환영사로 시작해 방문 교장단 대표 인사, 보령 홍보영상 시청, 청소년 교육·문화 교류 증진 방안 협의 순으로 진행됐다. 양측은 몽골 고등학생들의 보령시 수학여행 방문과 관련한 사항들을 논의했다.
◆ 주요 관광지 및 교육기관 방문
방문단은 보령시에서 2박 3일간 무창포타워, 석탄박물관, 성주산휴양림 등 주요 관광지를 견학하며 보령시 교육·관광 자원을 체험했다. 방문단은 아주자동차대학과 충남해양과학고 등 관내 교육기관을 방문해 실무 교육 협력 방안도 모색했다.
◆ 글로벌 교육 거점 도약 기대
보령시 관계자는 "지난해 움느거비도 학생들 방문에 이어 이번 울란바토르시와 교류는 보령시가 글로벌 교육 거점으로 도약하는 중요한 계기가 될 것"이라며 "이번 방문을 통해 보령시와 몽골 울란바토르시 간 교육 분야 협력이 더욱 강화되길 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
보령시는 지난해 11월 8일 울란바토르시와 경제, 교육, 문화, 관광, 기후변화 등 다양한 분야에 대한 업무협력 협약을 체결했다. 보령시는 울란바토르시와 교류 협력 범위를 지속적으로 확대해 나가고 있다.

◆ 38 Ulaanbaatar Principals Visit Boryeong
Boryeong City held a welcome meeting for 38 principals and education officials from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, at the City Hall conference room on the 9th. The meeting was organized to discuss ways to enhance youth education and cultural exchange between Boryeong City and Ulaanbaatar.
The meeting began with a welcome address by the Boryeong City Deputy Mayor, followed by greetings from the visiting principals' representative, a Boryeong promotional video screening, and discussions on youth education and cultural exchange enhancement. Both sides discussed matters related to Mongolian high school students' educational trips to Boryeong City.
◆ Visits to Major Tourist Sites and Educational Institutions
The delegation toured major tourist attractions including Muchangpo Tower, Coal Museum, and Seongjusan Recreation Forest during their 2-night, 3-day stay in Boryeong City, experiencing the city's educational and tourism resources. The delegation visited local educational institutions including Aju Automobile University and Chungnam Maritime Science High School to explore practical educational cooperation measures.
◆ Expectations for Global Education Hub Development
A Boryeong City official stated, "Following last year's visit by Umnugovi students, this exchange with Ulaanbaatar will serve as an important opportunity for Boryeong City to emerge as a global education hub," adding, "We expect this visit to further strengthen educational cooperation between Boryeong City and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia."
Boryeong City signed a business cooperation agreement with Ulaanbaatar on November 8 last year covering various fields including economy, education, culture, tourism, and climate change. Boryeong City continues to expand the scope of exchange and cooperation with Ulaanbaatar.
