충북도가 고환율 기조 장기화에 따른 도내 수출입 기업의 피해를 최소화하기 위해 긴급 대책회의를 열었다.

충북도는 8일 오전 10시 충북도의회 다목적회의실에서 이복원 경제부지사 주재로 '고환율에 따른 충북 수출입 기업 대책회의'를 개최했다고 밝혔다. KOTRA 충북지원본부, 한국무역협회 충북지역본부, 중소벤처기업진흥공단 충북지역본부, 한국무역보험공사 충북지역본부, aT 세종충북지역본부, 한국수출입은행 충북지역본부, 충북기업진흥원, 청주상공회의소 등 8개 수출 유관기관과 충북연구원, 도내 수출입 기업 9곳 대표가 참석했다.

◆ 고환율 장기화, 기업 원가 부담 가중

충북연구원 김영배 원장과 윤영한 수석연구위원은 '고환율시대, 충북기업 대응전략' 설명에서 고환율로 인한 원화 약세가 수출기업의 원화 환산 매출 증가 효과를 가져올 수 있다고 분석했다. 그러나 수입 원자재 의존도가 높거나 외화 부채를 보유한 기업은 원가와 재무 부담이 커질 수 있다며 환리스크 관리의 중요성을 강조했다.

네패스야하드, 레오, 뷰니크, 마크로케어, 포메데시, 충청, 교동식품, 한백식품, 더맘 등 참석 기업들은 고환율에 따른 원가 부담 증가, 운영·수출자금 지원 필요성, 환리스크 관리 애로, 해외 마케팅·인증·통관 애로 등을 토로했다.

◆ 충북도, 맞춤형 지원 방안 제시

충북도와 각 수출 유관기관은 환변동 무역보험, 자금 지원, 마케팅 지원 등 시책을 설명했다. 기업별 애로사항에 대해 맞춤형 상담과 지원 방안도 안내했다.

이복원 경제부지사는 "고환율 상황이 지속되면서 특히 중소기업들에 어려움이 가중되고 있다"며 "정부와 수출유관기관, 도에서 마련한 여러 수출지원시책들을 잘 활용해달라"고 당부했다. 이어 "충북도는 수출입 기업의 애로사항을 청취하고 정부에 전달하여 우리 기업들이 상대적으로 피해를 덜 입도록 돕겠다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ 무역통상진흥시책 통합설명회 개최 예정

충북도는 지난해 미 관세대응을 위한 충북 통상 TF팀을 운영했다. 불안정한 글로벌 통상여건에 대비해 무역보험 가입지원, 관세 동향 및 무역정보 제공, 해외 전시회·무역사절단 파견 등 수출 지원사업을 추진하고 있다.

충북도는 오는 1월 28일 충북기업진흥원 대회의실에서 도내 중소·중견기업과 수출유관기관 관계자 등 300여 명을 대상으로 '2026년 무역통상진흥시책 통합설명회'를 개최할 예정이다.

Chungbuk Province held an emergency response meeting to minimize damage to local export-import companies due to prolonged high exchange rates.

Chungbuk Province announced that it held a "Response Meeting for Chungbuk Export-Import Companies on High Exchange Rates" at 10 a.m. on the 8th at the Chungbuk Provincial Council multipurpose conference room, chaired by Economic Vice Governor Lee Bok-won. Eight export-related organizations including KOTRA Chungbuk Support Headquarters, Korea International Trade Association Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, aT Sejong Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, Export-Import Bank of Korea Chungbuk Regional Headquarters, Chungbuk Technopark, and Cheongju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Chungbuk Research Institute and representatives from nine local export-import companies attended.

◆ Prolonged High Exchange Rates Increase Corporate Cost Burden

Chungbuk Research Institute President Kim Young-bae and Senior Research Fellow Yoon Young-han explained in their presentation "Response Strategies for Chungbuk Companies in the High Exchange Rate Era" that high exchange rates and weak won could increase export companies' won-converted sales. However, they emphasized the importance of exchange risk management, noting that companies with high dependence on imported raw materials or foreign currency debt could face increased cost and financial burdens.

Participating companies including Nepes Ahard, Leo, Viewnic, MacroCare, Formedeci, Chungcheong, Kyodong Food, Hanbaek Food, and The Mom expressed difficulties such as increased cost burden due to high exchange rates, need for operating and export fund support, exchange risk management difficulties, and overseas marketing, certification, and customs clearance challenges.

◆ Chungbuk Province Presents Customized Support Plans

Chungbuk Province and each export-related organization explained policies including exchange fluctuation trade insurance, financial support, and marketing support. They also provided customized consultation and support plans for each company's difficulties.

Economic Vice Governor Lee Bok-won said, "As high exchange rate situations persist, difficulties are increasing especially for small and medium-sized enterprises," and urged companies to "make good use of various export support policies prepared by the government, export-related organizations, and the province." He added, "Chungbuk Province will listen to the difficulties of export-import companies, convey them to the government, and help our companies suffer relatively less damage."

◆ Trade and Commerce Promotion Policy Integrated Briefing Session Scheduled

Chungbuk Province operated a Chungbuk Trade Task Force Team last year to respond to U.S. tariffs. It is promoting export support projects including trade insurance subscription support, tariff trends and trade information provision, and overseas exhibition and trade mission dispatches to prepare for unstable global trade conditions.

Chungbuk Province plans to hold a "2026 Trade and Commerce Promotion Policy Integrated Briefing Session" on January 28 at the Chungbuk Technopark conference hall for about 300 people including local small and medium-sized enterprises and export-related organization officials.
