단양군의회(의장 이상훈)가 2일 충혼탑 참배를 시작으로 의회 1층 다목적회의실에서 시무식을 열었다. 단양군의회는 2026년 새해 의정활동의 힘찬 출발을 알렸다. 시무식에는 단양군의회 의원과 직원이 참석했다. 이상훈 의장의 신년사를 시작으로 새해 인사와 함께 올 한 해 군민을 위한 의정활동의 각오와 결의를 다졌다.

이상훈 의장은 신년사를 통해 "지난 한 해 단양군의회는 변화된 지방자치 환경 속에서 의회의 책임과 역할을 되새기며 군민의 삶과 가장 가까운 곳에서 답을 찾기 위해 쉼 없이 달려왔다"고 말했다. 이 의장은 "2026년은 제9대 의회를 마무리하고 제10대 의회를 열어가는 매우 뜻깊은 해"라고 강조했다. 이 의장은 "항상 의정활동에 군민의 마음을 담고 군민의 바람이 정책이 될 수 있도록 혼신의 힘을 다해 의정활동을 펼쳐가겠다"고 밝혔다.
◆ 2월 3일 첫 임시회 개최 예정
단양군의회는 오는 2월 3일 2026년 첫 임시회를 연다. 단양군의회는 본격적인 회기 운영에 돌입할 예정이다.
