◆ 민생 회복, 최우선 과제 선정

김덕배 홍성군의회 의장은 2일 신년사를 통해 2026년 의정활동의 세 가지 방향을 제시했다. 첫 번째는 민생과 지역경제 회복을 의정활동의 최우선 과제로 삼는 것이다. 의장은 소상공인·자영업자·농어업인·취약계층의 삶을 현장에서 직접 확인하고, 예산과 제도의 실질적 효과를 끝까지 점검하겠다고 밝혔다.

◆ 재난·위기 대비 체계 강화

둘째는 재난과 위기 상황에서 군민이 혼자가 되지 않도록 하는 것이다. 의장은 안전과 복지가 사후 대책이 아닌 사전 준비와 지속적 점검을 핵심으로 본다며, 의회가 군정 전반을 면밀히 감시해 군민의 생명과 일상 안정에 책임을 다하겠다고 강조했다.

◆ 제9대 의회, 책임 완수 약속

셋째는 임기 마지막 해를 맞은 제9대 홍성군의회가 의회의 책임을 끝까지 완수하는 것이다. 의장은 "군민의 삶을 지키고 군정을 바로 세우는 데 책임 있는 의정활동으로 보답하겠다"고 밝혔다. 의장은 또 지난해 재난과 경제적 어려움 속에서도 서로를 먼저 살피며 홍성을 지켜준 군민의 노력이 공동체의 가장 큰 힘이었다고 평가했다.

◆ Livelihood Recovery as Top Priority

Kim Deok-bae, chairman of the Hongseong County Council, outlined three policy directions for 2026 in a New Year's address on January 2. The first priority is addressing livelihood recovery and regional economic restoration. The chairman stated the council will directly monitor the conditions of small business owners, self-employed workers, farmers and fishermen, and vulnerable populations while verifying whether budgets and policies deliver concrete benefits.

◆ Strengthening Disaster and Crisis Response Systems

The second direction focuses on ensuring residents do not face disasters and crises alone. The chairman emphasized that safety and welfare require advance preparation and continuous monitoring rather than post-disaster measures. He pledged the council will closely oversee all government operations to protect residents' lives and daily stability.

◆ 9th Assembly Commits to Mission Completion

The third direction involves completing the responsibilities of the 9th Hongseong County Council as it approaches the end of its term. "We will repay residents' trust through responsible political activities that protect their lives and establish proper governance," the chairman stated. He also noted that residents' mutual support during last year's disasters and economic difficulties served as the community's greatest strength.
