◆ 이재명 대통령 대한노인회 190여명 청와대 초청

이재명 대통령은 22일 대한노인회 소속 노년층 190여명을 청와대 영빈관으로 초청해 오찬 행사를 열었다. 행사 제목은 '어르신이 걸어온 길, 우리가 이어갈 길'이다. 이 대통령은 "2025년 대한민국은 노인 인구가 전체 인구의 20%를 넘는 초고령사회에 진입했다"며 "어르신 정책이 곧 국민 모두를 위한 정책이 됐다"고 밝혔다.

◆ 노인일자리 115만개 확대·기초연금 인상

이 대통령은 "기초연금을 인상하고 노인 일자리도 역대 최대 수준인 115만개로 확대했다"고 밝혔다. 이 대통령은 "요양병원 간병비의 건강보험 적용도 단계적으로 추진하겠다"며 "복지를 더욱 촘촘하게 하되 어르신의 경험과 지혜를 사회적 자산으로 발휘하도록 대전환을 만들겠다"고 설명했다. 2026년 3월부터는 지역사회 통합돌봄 제도가 전국적으로 시행돼 어르신들이 거주지에서 의료·요양·돌봄 서비스를 통합적으로 받을 수 있다.

◆ 이중근 대한노인회장 유엔데이 공휴일 지정 건의

이중근 대한노인회장은 "노인 요양 돌봄 지원 등 정책을 세밀히 준비해줘 감사드린다"고 화답했다. 이 회장은 유엔 창설일인 10월 24일 '유엔데이'를 국가 공휴일로 지정해 달라고 건의했다. 이 회장은 "6·25 전쟁 당시 세계 국가들이 힘을 모았다"며 "협력과 평화의 정신을 후대에 이어가야 한다"고 밝혔다. 이날 오찬 메뉴로는 동지를 맞아 팥죽이 제공됐다.

Chairman Lee proposed designating October 24th, 'UN Day' marking the UN's founding, as a national holiday. Chairman Lee stated, "Countries around the world joined forces during the Korean War," adding, "We must pass on the spirit of cooperation and peace to future generations."
