공주시가 국가유산청 주최 '2025년 우리고장 국가유산 활용 우수사업 시상식'에서 '신(新) 충청감영 공주로' 프로젝트로 우수사업 선정됐다. 22일 공주시 발표다.
◆ 전국 132개 사업 중 최상위 7개 선정
생생 국가유산 활용사업 분야 경합에서 공주시 사업이 선택됐다. 국가유산청 공모는 향교·서원 문화유산을 포함 생생 국가유산·국가유산 야행·전통 산사 문화유산·고택·종갓집 활용사업 등 5개 분야를 대상으로 진행됐다.
◆ 선화당·포정사 문루가 무대
'신(新) 충청감영 공주로'는 공주시 웅진동 332-7번지 충청남도 지정 국가유산 선화당과 포정사 문루를 활용한 프로젝트다. 공주시 주최, 온닮(대표 은진현) 운영으로 2023년부터 시작됐다.
선화당은 조선 후기 충청도 관찰사가 행정·군사·조세·사법 업무를 처리하던 공간이다. 현재 건물은 1833년(순조 33년) 재건축, 1992년 웅진동으로 이전 복원됐다.
◆ 올해 4월부터 10월까지 9차례 프로그램 진행
공주시 문화유산 교육·전통문화 체험·공연 등 프로그램을 통해 시민과 방문객이 국가유산 가치를 직접 체감하도록 했다. 올해는 '포정사 문루에 올라' '농상성 발명으로 빛나다' '충청관찰사와 조운제도' 등 9개 프로그램을 4월부터 10월까지 진행해 참여 호응을 얻었다.
야외 설치 공주 충청감영 측우기 복제품은 원형이 국보 지정돼 서울 기상청에 보관 중이다. 조선시대 측우기 원형이 그대로 남은 것은 공주 충청감영 측우기가 유일하다.
최원철 공주시장은 "우수사업 선정은 공주시 국가유산 가치와 활용 사업 성과가 공식 인정받은 결과"라며 "향후 국가유산 활용 프로그램을 지속 확대해 시민 문화 향유 기회를 높이고 지역경제 활력을 더하겠다"고 말했다.

Gongju City earned selection for the "2025 Our Hometown National Heritage Utilization Excellence Project Award Ceremony" hosted by the National Heritage Administration for its "New(新) Chungcheong Governorate, Gongju Road" project. Gongju City announced this on December 22.
◆ Selected Among Top 7 of 132 Nationwide Projects
Gongju City's project was chosen in competition within the Vivid National Heritage Utilization category. The National Heritage Administration's public recruitment targeted five sectors: Hyanggyo and Seowon cultural heritage, Vivid National Heritage, National Heritage night tours, traditional Buddhist temple cultural heritage, and traditional house and clan house utilization projects.
◆ Seonhwadang and Pojeongsa Gate House as Foundation
The "New(新) Chungcheong Governorate, Gongju Road" project utilizes Seonhwadang and Pojeongsa Munru, both designated national heritage sites of Chungcheongnam-do Province, located at 332-7 Ungjin-dong, Gongju City. The project launched in 2023 under Gongju City's sponsorship and Onddat's (CEO Eun Jin-hyun) operation.
Seonhwadang served as the workspace where Chungcheong Province's inspectors during the late Joseon period handled administrative, military, taxation, and judicial affairs. The current building underwent reconstruction in 1833 (King Sunjo year 33) and was relocated and restored to its present Unglin-dong location in 1992.
◆ Nine Programs Conducted From April to October This Year
Through cultural heritage education, traditional culture experience, and performance programs, Gongju City enabled citizens and visitors to directly experience the value of national heritage. This year, nine programs including "Ascending Pojeongsa Gate House," "Shining with Agricultural Innovations," and "Chungcheong Inspector and Transport System" ran from April through October, garnering positive public participation.
The replica of the Gongju Chungcheong Governorate rain gauge installed outdoors has its original designated as a National Treasure, currently preserved at the Seoul Meteorological Administration. The Gongju Chungcheong Governorate rain gauge remains the sole surviving original rain gauge from the Joseon dynasty.
Gongju Mayor Choi Won-chul stated, "The excellence project selection represents official recognition of Gongju's national heritage value and the achievements of heritage utilization projects," and added, "Going forward, we will continuously expand national heritage utilization programs to increase citizens' cultural enrichment opportunities and vitalize the local economy."
