◆ 305억 규모 도시재생 공모 2개 사업 최종 선정
당진시 오성환 시장 주도로 2025년 국토교통부 도시재생 공모사업에서 송악읍 기지시지구 노후주거지정비지원사업과 면천면 도시재생 인정사업이 최종 선정됐다. 당진시가 22일 발표했다. 이번 선정으로 당진시는 305억 원 사업비를 확보했다. 사업은 2026년부터 추진된다.
◆ 송악읍, 250억 투입한 주거환경 개선 중심
송악읍 기지시지구는 노후 주거지로 기반시설 부족과 복잡한 필지 구조가 문제였다. 당진시는 2024년부터 주민설명회, 활성화 계획 용역, 중앙평가 등 체계적 절차를 거쳐 국토교통부의 현장평가와 중앙평가를 통과했다. 시는 250억 원을 투입해 2026년부터 2030년까지 복합생활지원센터 건립, 커뮤니티 공원 조성, 도로 확장, 주차장 조성, 마을 안길 정비, 주민주도 주택개량 및 재건축, 스마트보행환경 조성 사업을 진행할 계획이다. 법무부 범죄예방환경컨설팅과 문화체육관광부 문화영향평가 연계, 주민주도 정비 방식 도입이 높은 평가를 받았다.
◆ 면천면, 55억 4100만 원으로 문화·경제 복합공간 조성
옛 면천농협 건물을 리모델링해 문화·지역경제 복합공간 '면천고방'을 조성하는 사업도 선정됐다. 당진시는 55억 4100만 원을 투입해 2026년부터 2028년까지 3년간 면천농협을 리모델링하고 옥상정원, 법정 의무시설 등을 조성한다. 이후 지역 문화·경제 활성화 프로그램 운영, 면천 미디어 크리에이터 육성, 지역특산품 체험, 플리마켓 등 공동 마케팅을 추진할 방침이다. 면천읍성 일대 역사문화자원을 중심으로 지역 활력을 되살리는 전략이다.

◆ Songak-eup District: 25 Billion Won Investment for Housing Environment Improvement
The Songak-eup Gijisite District faces challenges as an aging residential area with insufficient basic infrastructure and complex land-use patterns. Dangjin City proceeded through systematic procedures starting in 2024, including resident briefings, activation planning projects, and central evaluations, successfully passing both the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's on-site and central evaluations. The city will invest 25 billion won from 2026 through 2030 to construct a complex living support center, create community parks, expand roads, establish parking facilities, improve village streets, implement resident-led housing improvement and reconstruction, and develop smart pedestrian environments. The project received high marks for integrating the Ministry of Justice's crime prevention environmental consulting and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's cultural impact assessment, along with implementing resident-led improvement methods.
◆ Myeoncheon-myeon: 5.541 Billion Won for Cultural and Economic Complex Space
A project to remodel the former Myeoncheon Agricultural Cooperative building into a cultural and regional economic complex space called "Myeoncheon Gobanq" was also selected. Dangjin City will invest 5.541 billion won from 2026 through 2028 to remodel the agricultural cooperative and create rooftop gardens and legal facility requirements. Subsequently, the city plans to promote regional cultural and economic activation programs, foster Myeoncheon media creators, provide regional specialty product experiences, and conduct joint marketing including flea markets. The strategy focuses on revitalizing the area around Myeoncheon Castle using historical and cultural resources as a foundation.
