충북 진천군 정신건강복지센터가 9∼11일 4개 읍면 37개 기관 참여 가운데 '2025년 2차 연도 생명 존중 안심마을 사업' 평가회를 진행했다. 올해 사업성과를 공유하고 2026년도 추진 방향을 검토했다.
◆ 4개 읍면 37개 기관 참여한 평가회 개최
충북 진천군 정신건강복지센터는 9일부터 11일까지 진천읍, 광혜원면, 덕산읍 순서로 '2025년 2차 연도 진천군 생명 존중 안심마을 사업' 참여기관 평가회를 진행했다. 진천읍, 덕산읍, 광혜원면, 초평면 4개 읍면에서 총 37개 기관이 사업에 참여 중이다. 평가회에는 각 참여기관의 대표와 사업 담당자들이 참석했다.
◆ 5개 영역 협력으로 자살 예방 추진
생명 존중 안심마을 사업은 자살 예방을 위한 지역사회 안전망 강화와 생명 존중 문화 조성을 목표로 한다. 보건의료, 교육, 복지, 지역사회, 공공서비스 등 5개 영역의 협력을 기반으로 운영된다. 진천군은 2024년부터 사업을 추진해왔으며 근거 기반 중심의 자살 예방 사업을 추진 중이다. 참석자들은 올해 사업성과를 공유하고 개선 방안을 논의했다.
◆ 2026년 사업 추진 방향 검토
평가회에서는 2026년도 사업 추진 방향과 운영 안내가 진행됐다. 진천군은 지역 내 자원과 네트워크를 활용해 지역 내 자살률 감소에 목표를 두고 있다. 정신건강복지센터 관계자는 "각 지역에서 추진한 사업의 성과를 공유하고 관내 기관들과 협력해 생명 존중 문화를 확산하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Strengthening suicide prevention through cooperation in five sectors
Jincheon County Mental Health Welfare Center conducted an evaluation meeting for the 'Jincheon County Life-Respecting Safe Village Project for the Second Phase of 2025' from the 9th to 11th in the order of Jincheon-eup, Gwanghyewon-myeon, and Deoksan-eup. A total of 37 organizations from four townships—Jincheon-eup, Deoksan-eup, Gwanghyewon-myeon, and Chopyeong-myeon—are currently participating in the project. Representatives and project managers from each participating organization attended the evaluation meeting.
The Life-Respecting Safe Village Project aims to strengthen community safety networks for suicide prevention and foster a culture of respect for life. The project operates based on cooperation among five sectors: healthcare, education, welfare, community, and public services. Jincheon County has implemented the project since 2024 and is pursuing evidence-based suicide prevention initiatives. Attendees shared this year's project achievements and discussed improvement measures.
Examining 2026 project implementation direction
The evaluation meeting covered the direction of project implementation and operational guidance for 2026. Jincheon County focuses on reducing the suicide rate in the region by utilizing local resources and networks. An official from the Mental Health Welfare Center stated, "We will continue to share the outcomes of projects implemented in each area and expand a culture respecting life by cooperating with organizations in the county."
