세계 최초 신종 애호박 병해 규명 - 청주시농기센터 전국 대상 수상

◆ 전국 경진대회 대상 수상 공식 발표

청주시농업기술센터는 28일 농촌진흥청 주관 '2025년 농업환경보전 및 안전농산물 생산 우수사례 경진대회'에서 대상(전국 1위)을 수상했다고 밝혔다. 본 경진대회는 전국 농업기술센터를 대상으로 농업환경보전 실천 노력, 안전농산물 생산관리, 로컬푸드 안전관리, 지차체 혁신사례, 농업환경 분석·지원 등을 평가하는 전국 단위 행사다.

◆ 세계 최초 신종 병해 규명 외 3대 성과 달성

청주지역에 새롭게 발생한 세균성 애호박 뿌리혹병의 원인균을 세계 최초로 규명한 성과가 크게 인정됐다. 학술보고와 농가별 맞춤 지도를 통해 병 확산을 조기에 차단했으며 농업인 피해를 최소화했다. 전국 최초로 농약사용 실태조사를 추진했고 부적합 사례를 과학적으로 분석한 후 '올바른 농약사용 교육모델'을 구축했다. 충북 도내 최초로 농업용수 분석 및 양액처방 서비스를 제공해 수경재배 농가의 기술적 어려움을 해결하고 스마트팜 확산 기반을 강화했다.

◆ 안심 먹거리 도시 청주 건설 추진

박찬순 청주시농업기술센터 소장은 "경진대회 수상은 청주시 농업인의 적극적 참여와 기술센터 직원들의 전문성이 함께 이룬 성과"라며 "앞으로도 지역농산물 안전관리를 한층 강화해 시민이 신뢰할 수 있는 '안심 먹거리 도시 청주'를 만들겠다"고 말했다. 청주시농업기술센터는 향후 농업환경 분석 서비스를 확대하고 농업 현장의 문제를 적극 발굴하며 지역 농산물의 안전관리 체계를 강화할 계획이다.

◆ National Competition Grand Prize Officially Announced

Cheongju Agricultural Technology Center announced on November 28 that it won the Grand Prize (National 1st place) in the '2025 Agricultural Environment Conservation and Safe Agricultural Product Production Best Practices Competition' hosted by the Rural Development Administration. This nationwide competition evaluates agricultural technology centers across the nation based on agricultural environment conservation practice efforts, safe agricultural product production management, local food safety management, local government innovation cases, and agricultural environment analysis and support.

◆ World's First Bacterial Zucchini Disease Identification and Three Major Achievements

The center received major recognition for becoming the first in the world to identify the causative bacteria of bacterial zucchini root-knot disease newly emerging in the Cheongju region. Through academic reports and customized guidance for individual farmers, the center blocked early disease spread and minimized farmer damage. The center initiated Korea's first pesticide usage survey, scientifically analyzed non-compliant cases, and established the 'Correct Pesticide Use Educational Model.' The center also provided North Chungcheong province's first agricultural water analysis and nutrient solution prescription services, resolving technical difficulties for hydroponics farmers and strengthening the smart farm expansion foundation.

◆ Building Cheongju as a Safe Food City

Park Chan-soon, director of Cheongju Agricultural Technology Center, stated "Winning this competition represents achievements accomplished through active participation of Cheongju farmers and the expertise of our technology center staff," and added "We will further strengthen local agricultural product safety management to create 'Cheongju, a safe food city that citizens can trust.'" Cheongju Agricultural Technology Center plans to expand agricultural environment analysis services, actively identify issues in agricultural sites, and strengthen local agricultural product safety management systems going forward.
