영동군 주민자치위원 117명 강릉서 역량강화 워크숍

영동군이 25일부터 26일까지 강원도 강릉시 SL호텔에서 주민자치위원 117명을 위한 역량강화 워크숍을 개최했다. 관내 11개 읍·면 주민자치위원이 참여한 이번 행사는 지역 공동체 활동 활성화 방안을 중심으로 진행됐다.

◆ 첫째 날 교육과정

참가자들은 강원도 양양군 양수발전소를 방문해 전력 생산 구조와 운영 현황을 청취했다. 강릉시 행사장으로 이동 후 오후 일정에서 주민자치위원의 역할과 실무역량을 강화하는 교육 두 차례를 받았다. 정영철 영동군수가 특강을 통해 주민자치의 방향과 지역발전을 위한 소통·참여 중요성을 강조했다. 저녁에는 만찬과 화합의 밤 행사를 열어 읍·면 주민자치위원 간 교류를 심화시켰다.

◆ 둘째 날 현장학습

26일 참가자들은 강릉시 주문진읍 시장을 방문해 전통시장 활성화 사례를 체험했다. 강릉시 정동진의 레일바이크를 이용한 현장학습을 진행하며 지역의 관광·문화 자원을 직접 경험했다. 참가자들은 지역사례를 토대로 공동체 활동 활성화에 적용 가능한 아이디어를 공유했다.

◆ 향후 교육 확대 추진

영동군 관계자는 "워크숍이 주민자치위원의 역량 향상과 읍·면 간 네트워크 강화에 기여했다"고 평가했다. 군은 "주민자치 활성화를 위해 교육과 교류 기회를 지속적으로 확대할 방침"이라고 밝혔다.

Yeongdong County held a competency enhancement workshop for 117 community autonomy committee members at SL Hotel in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do from November 25 to 26. The event brought together community autonomy committee members from 11 townships and counties within the county and focused on ways to revitalize community activities.

◆ First Day Training Program

Participants visited Yangyang Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Station in Yangyang County, Gangwon-do to learn about power generation structure and operational status. After moving to the workshop venue in Gangneung-si, afternoon sessions included two consecutive training courses on the roles and practical competencies of community autonomy committee members. Yeongdong County Governor Jung Young-chul delivered a special lecture emphasizing the direction of community autonomy and the importance of communication and participation for regional development. An evening reception and unity event strengthened exchanges among community committee members from each township and county.

◆ Second Day Field Study

On November 26, participants visited Jumunjin Market in Jumunjin-eup, Gangneung-si to experience examples of traditional market revitalization. Through a field study using the rail bike at Jeongdongjin in Gangneung-si, participants directly experienced the region's tourism and cultural resources. Participants shared ideas based on regional cases applicable to revitalizing community activities.

◆ Plans to Expand Future Education

A Yeongdong County official stated that "the workshop contributed to enhancing the competencies of community autonomy committee members and strengthening networks between townships." The county announced its plan to "continuously expand educational opportunities and exchanges to promote community autonomy activities going forward."
