서산시, 올해 12개 국제·전국 스포츠 대회 개최…스포츠 도시 위상 높여

◆ 주요 스포츠 대회 12개 성공 개최

충청남도 서산시 올해 10월까지 12개 국제·전국·도 단위 스포츠 대회를 성공적으로 개최했다. 서산시 스포츠 도시로서 위상을 높였다.

제31회 충청남도장애인체육대회 5월 29일부터 31일까지 3일간 서산시에서 개최됐다. 충남 15개 시군에서 파견한 선수와 임원 총 6천 명이 참가했다. 서산시 종합 1위를 차지했다.

서산시장배 국제 유소년 축구대회 7월 24일부터 28일까지 5일간 진행됐다. 국내 58개 팀과 해외 12개 팀 총 1천7백여 명의 선수가 참가했다.

2025 서산 코스모스 황금들녘 마라톤 대회 9월 28일 개최됐다. 7천여 명이 참가했다. 전년 대비 2배 증가했다. 올해 제3회를 맞이한 이 대회는 3년 만에 전국 마라톤 대회로 자리매김했다.

이외에도 족구, 배드민턴, 볼링, 파크골프, 탁구, 테니스 등 다양한 종목 대회 개최로 체육 동호인들의 큰 관심을 받았다.

◆ 여름·겨울 테마파크로 계절 레저 확대

서산시 여름과 겨울 시즌 시민을 위한 테마파크를 운영했다.

올해 여름 테마파크 나무데크 풀장, 패밀리풀, 햇빛 가림막, 대형 쉼터 등을 대폭 확충했다. 가족 단위 이용객들의 호응을 받았다.

올해 겨울 테마파크 12월 20일 개장을 목표로 현재 시설물 설치를 진행 중이다.

◆ 국제·전국 규모 대회 지속 개최 계획

◆ Successfully Hosted 12 Major Sports Competitions

Seosan City in Chungcheongnam-do Province successfully hosted 12 international, national, and provincial sports competitions through October this year. Seosan City elevated its status as a sports city.

The 31st Chungcheongnam-do Disability Sports Festival held from May 29 to 31 for three days in Seosan City. A total of 6,000 athletes and officials dispatched from 15 municipalities and counties in Chungcheongnam-do participated. Seosan City finished first overall.

The Seosan Mayor's Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament ran from July 24 to 28 for five days. A total of 1,700 players participated from 58 domestic teams and 12 overseas teams.

The 2025 Seosan Cosmos Golden Fields Marathon held on September 28. 7,000 people participated. This represented a twofold increase compared to the previous year. The tournament, now in its third year, has become established as a nationwide marathon event in just three years.

Various other competitions in disciplines including shuttlecock kick, badminton, bowling, park golf, table tennis, and tennis garnered significant interest from sports enthusiasts.

◆ Expanding Seasonal Recreation with Summer and Winter Theme Parks

Seosan City operated theme parks for summer and winter seasons for residents.

The summer theme park this year significantly expanded its wooden deck pool, family pool, sun shade structures, and large rest areas. It received favorable responses from families.

The winter theme park targets a December 20 opening, with facility installation currently underway.

◆ Plans to Continue Hosting International and National-Level Competitions

Mayor Lee Wan-seop of Seosan City stated, "Going forward, we will continue to host international and national-scale competitions utilizing Seosan City's excellent infrastructure. We will strengthen our status as a sports city and improve conditions for residents to enjoy sports," he said.
