◆ 공주시의회, 오동진 장군 항일운동 연구 최종보고회 열어
공주시의회는 10일 오후 특별위원회 회의실에서 '오동진 장군 항일운동 연구 및 기념 방안 연구용역 최종보고회'를 개최했다. 의원연구단체인 '오동진 장군 항일운동 및 기념 방안 연구회'가 보고회를 주관했다. 연구회는 김권한 대표의원을 비롯해 임달희·임규연·구본길 의원 등 4명으로 구성됐다.
공주대학교 산학협력단은 6월부터 5개월간 연구용역을 수행했다. 윤세병 교수가 책임연구자로 참여했다. 연구진은 오동진 장군의 생애 및 항일운동, 공주 관련 행적 및 유적·기념활동, 기념사업 추진 방안 등 3개 분야를 연구했다.
◆ 사료 기반 항일활동 고증…공주 독립운동 주요 무대 재확인
연구진은 사료와 구술자료를 바탕으로 오동진 장군의 항일활동을 고증했다. 연구 결과 공주가 독립운동의 주요 무대 중 하나였음을 확인했다. 연구진은 기념공간 조성, 추모행사 정례화, 역사교육 프로그램 운영, 자료 구축 등 구체적 실천 방안을 제시했다.
◆ "독립운동사 체계적 복원…항일정신 계승 기반 마련"
김권한 대표의원은 "이번 연구용역은 공주 독립운동사를 체계적으로 복원하고 오동진 장군의 항일정신을 시민과 되새기는 첫걸음"이라고 말했다. 그는 "역사적 인물의 정신을 계승하고 지역 자긍심을 높이는 기념사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
공주시의회 임달희 의장은 이번 연구가 공주지역 독립운동의 역사적 가치를 회복하고 항일정신 계승 기반을 마련하는 계기가 될 것이라고 평가했다.

Gongju City Council held the final report on the research service for General Oh Dong-jin's anti-Japanese movement and commemoration plans at the special committee meeting room on the afternoon of the 10th. The council member research group 'General Oh Dong-jin Anti-Japanese Movement and Commemoration Plan Research Association' organized the report. The research association consists of four members including Representative Council Member Kim Kwon-han, Lim Dal-hee, Lim Kyu-yeon, and Koo Bon-gil.
Kongju National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation conducted the research service for five months from June. Professor Yoon Se-byung participated as the principal researcher. The research team studied three areas: General Oh Dong-jin's life and anti-Japanese movement, activities and relics related to Gongju, and plans for commemorative projects.

The research team verified General Oh Dong-jin's anti-Japanese activities based on historical records and oral materials. The research confirmed Gongju was one of the major stages for the independence movement. The research team proposed specific action plans including memorial space creation, regularization of memorial events, operation of history education programs, and data construction.

Representative Council Member Kim Kwon-han said, "This research service is the first step to systematically restore Gongju's independence movement history and reflect on General Oh Dong-jin's anti-Japanese spirit with citizens." He stated, "We will do our best to promote commemorative projects that inherit the spirit of historical figures and enhance regional pride."
Gongju City Council Chairman Lim Dal-hee evaluated this research will serve as an opportunity to restore the historical value of the independence movement in the Gongju region and establish a foundation for inheriting the anti-Japanese spirit.
