◆전국대회서 준우승 달성
진천 옥동초등학교가 제18회 전국학교스포츠클럽축전 풋살대회에서 준우승했다. 학교는 11월 8일부터 9일까지 열린 대회에 양은서 학생을 포함한 10명 선수단을 출전시켰다. 선수단은 예선부터 결승까지 전국 각지 대표팀과 경기를 펼쳤다.
◆선수단 팀워크가 성과 이끌어
양은서 학생은 "전국 대회 무대에서 친구들과 뛰며 서로를 믿고 최선을 다했다"고 말했다. 양 학생은 "준우승은 모두가 함께 만든 노력의 결실"이라고 덧붙였다. 옥동초는 같은 대회 치어리딩 부문에서도 블루마블팀이 전국 2위를 기록했다. 민채아 학생을 포함한 16명이 블루마블팀으로 출전했다.
◆학교, 스포츠 교육 강화 방침
강은주 교장은 "학생들은 스포츠를 통해 협동과 배려, 도전정신을 배운다"고 밝혔다. 강 교장은 "학생들이 스스로 배우고 서로를 존중하며 함께 성장하는 교육 문화를 이어가겠다"고 말했다. 옥동초는 다양한 스포츠 활동과 동아리 운영을 통해 학생 참여를 확대할 계획이다.

◆Runner-up Achievement at National Tournament
Jincheon Okdong Elementary School won runner-up at the 18th National School Sports Club Festival Futsal Tournament. The school sent a 10-member team including student Yang Eun-seo to compete from November 8 to 9. The team competed against representative teams from across the nation from preliminaries to finals.
◆Team Synergy Drives Success
Student Yang Eun-seo said, "We trusted each other and did our best while playing with friends on the national stage." Yang added, "The runner-up finish is the result of everyone's efforts together." Okdong Elementary also recorded second place nationwide in the cheerleading category at the same competition. Sixteen members including student Min Chae-a competed as the Blue Marble Team.
◆School Reinforces Sports Education Policy
Principal Kang Eun-joo stated, "Students learn cooperation, consideration, and challenging spirit through sports." Principal Kang said, "We will continue an educational culture where students learn by themselves, respect each other, and grow together." Okdong Elementary plans to expand student participation through various sports activities and club operations.
