충북 제천시가 3일부터 경제활력지원금(민생지원금)을 지급한다. 취약계층에는 30만원, 일반 시민에게는 20만원을 지급한다.
2일 시는 재정안정화기금 270억원을 풀어 13만 시민에게 지원금을 지급하기로 했다고 밝혔다.
◆ 세대주, 읍·면·동에서 세대원 카드 일괄 수령
2일 제천시에 따르면 제천 시민인 세대주는 읍·면·동 행정복지센터에서 신청서 작성 없이 세대원의 선불카드를 한꺼번에 받을 수 있다.
동일 세대원이 아니더라도 가족관계증명서와 위임장을 지참한 가족은 대리 신청할 수 있다.
◆ 선불카드 형태로만 지급
제천시의 민생지원금은 선불카드 형태로만 지급한다. 지류상품권이나 지역상품권 '모아' 카드에 충전하는 방식은 이용할 수 없다.
제천시는 민생지원금을 신청하는 일반 시민에게는 각 20만원을, 기초생활수급자·차상위계층·한부모가족 등 취약계층에게는 각 30만원을 지급하기로 했다.
◆ 첫 주 혼잡 예상…2주 차부터 신청 권고
제천시 관계자는 "지급 첫 주인 3~7일에는 혼잡이 예상된다"며 "부득이한 경우가 아니라면 가급적 2주 차부터 신청해 달라"고 요청했다.
◆ 13만여명 대상 270억원 투입
이번에 지급하는 민생지원금 예산 270억5210만원은 제천시가 보유한 재정안정화기금을 활용한다.
지급 대상은 지난달 10일부터 제천에 주민등록을 두고 있는 시민 또는 체류지가 제천인 결혼이민자·영주권자·고려인 동포 등이다.
취약계층 주민 1만1097명, 일반 시민 11만8210명 등 13만여명이 받게 될 것으로 추산된다.
내년 2월 말일까지 사용하지 않은 잔액은 소멸한다.

Jecheon City decided to provide 200,000 won each to general citizens applying for the public welfare subsidy, and 300,000 won each to vulnerable groups including basic livelihood recipients, near-poor class, and single-parent families.
◆ First Week Congestion Expected…Application from Second Week Recommended
A Jecheon City official said, "Congestion is expected during the first week of distribution from the 3rd to 7th," requesting "Unless unavoidable, please apply from the second week onwards."
◆ 27 Billion Won Invested for 130,000 People
The public welfare subsidy budget of 27,052,100,000 won to be distributed this time will utilize the fiscal stabilization fund held by Jecheon City.
Eligible recipients are citizens who have had their resident registration in Jecheon since the 10th of last month, or marriage immigrants, permanent residents, and ethnic Koreans whose place of stay is Jecheon.
It is estimated that about 130,000 people will receive the subsidy, including 11,097 vulnerable residents and 118,210 general citizens.
Unused balances will expire by the end of February next year.
