충청북도경찰청(청장 이종원)은 10월 21일 오전 11시 충북경찰청 우암홀에서 제80주년 경찰의 날 기념식을 개최했다.
이날 행사에는 오원심 경우회장, 이광숙 자치경찰위원장, 경찰발전협의회 등 협력단체장, 감사장 및 표창장 수상자 등 300여 명이 참석했다.
기념식은 '경찰 80년 국민의 안전! 새로운 시작!'이라는 슬로건 아래 진행됐다. 기념영상 상영, 유공자 포상, 대통령 치사 대독, 자치경찰위원장 축사, 경찰가 제창 순으로 행사가 진행됐다.
한상옥 감찰계장과 이석용 대테러계장이 대통령 표창을 수상했다. 집회시위자문위원회 장태순 위원장과 서원자율방범대 전헌하 대장 등이 경찰청장 감사장을 수상했다.
기념식에서는 올해 1월 교통사고로 사망한 故 박성민 경사의 유가족을 초청했다. 충북경찰 동료들이 급여에서 우수리 공제를 통해 모은 위로금을 전달했다.
경찰청은 경찰의 날을 맞아 교향악단 초청 공연, 경품추첨, 푸드트럭, 포토부스, 카페 무료 이벤트 등 다양한 행사를 개최했다.
이종원 충청북도경찰청장은 "그동안 맡은 바 직무를 충실하게 수행한 동료 직원들의 노고에 깊은 감사를 드린다"고 말했다.
이 청장은 "앞으로도 도민 곁으로 한 걸음 더 다가가는 따뜻하고 믿음직한 충북경찰이 되어달라"고 당부했다.

The Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Police Agency (Commissioner Lee Jong-won) held the 80th Police Day ceremony at 11 AM on October 21 at Chungbuk Police Agency Uam Hall.
About 300 people attended the event including Oh Won-sim, Chairman of the Police Alumni Association, Lee Gwang-sook, Chairman of the Autonomous Police Committee, heads of cooperative organizations such as the Police Development Council, and recipients of letters of appreciation and commendation.
The ceremony proceeded under the slogan 'Police 80 Years, Public Safety! A New Beginning!' The event included memorial video screening, awards for meritorious persons, reading of the President's message, congratulatory address by the Autonomous Police Committee Chairman, and singing of the police anthem.
Han Sang-ok, Chief of Inspection Section, and Lee Seok-yong, Chief of Anti-Terrorism Section, received Presidential commendations. Jang Tae-soon, Chairman of the Assembly and Demonstration Advisory Committee, and Jeon Heon-ha, Captain of Seowon Voluntary Crime Prevention Corps, received letters of appreciation from the Commissioner of the National Police Agency.
The ceremony invited the bereaved family of late Sergeant Park Seong-min, who died in a traffic accident in January this year. Consolation money collected through fractional deductions from the salaries of Chungbuk Police colleagues was delivered.
The police agency held various events to mark Police Day, including an invited symphony orchestra performance, prize draw, food trucks, photo booth, and free cafe events.
Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Police Commissioner Lee Jong-won said, "I deeply appreciate the hard work of colleague employees who have faithfully performed their assigned duties."
Commissioner Lee requested, "Please continue to become warm and reliable Chungbuk Police that takes one more step closer to provincial residents."
