천안시는 문화체육관광부와 지역문화진흥원 주관의 '제2기 로컬100' 선정 온라인 국민투표에 천안흥타령춤축제가 천안지역 단일 후보로 선정됐다고 21일 밝혔다.
로컬100은 지역문화에 기반을 둔 특색있는 문화자원을 발굴·확산하는 사업이다. 전국 각지의 200개 후보지 중 100개를 선정한다.
올해 21회째인 천안흥타령춤축제는 'All That Dance in Cheonan'을 슬로건으로 열리는 대한민국 대표 글로벌 춤 축제다. 남녀노소 누구나 참여하는 시민참여형 축제 모델로 자리매김했다. 세계 여러 나라의 춤이 교류하는 국제 춤 축제로 성장했다.
천안흥타령춤축제는 거리댄스퍼레이드, 전국춤경연대회, 국제춤대회 등 다채로운 공연과 체험프로그램을 운영한다. 매년 80만여 명이 찾는 문화관광축제로 자리 잡았다.
온라인 국민투표는 31일까지 로컬100 공식 누리집(www.rcda.or.kr/local100)에서 진행된다.
대한민국 국민 누구나 투표에 참여할 수 있다. 1인당 5개의 후보지를 선택할 수 있다. 투표 참여자에게는 추첨을 통해 소정의 경품이 제공된다.
천안시는 로컬100 최종 선정을 위해 다양한 온라인 홍보 캠페인을 실시한다. 천안시는 천안흥타령춤축제가 '흥의 도시 천안'을 대표하는 세계 축제로 도약할 수 있도록 적극적인 지원을 이어갈 계획이다.
김석필 천안시장 권한대행 부시장은 "이번 로컬100 후보 선정은 축제의 우수성과 발전 가능성을 다시 한번 입증한 결과"라고 말했다. 김 부시장은 "천안이 가진 문화 경쟁력이 전국적으로 알려질 수 있도록 많은 시민 여러분이 투표에 동참해 주시기 바란다"고 밝혔다.
