박영기 제천시의회 의장은 "임야가 70%를 넘는 제천시는 임업과 목재산업의 활성화가 당면 과제 중 하나"라고 말했다.

박 의장은 "제천시가 임업경영을 기반으로 목재산업을 발전시킬 수 있는 방안을 모색하겠다"고 밝혔다. 그는 "목재산업의 부산물을 활용한 탄소중립 이행 방안도 함께 마련하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

Park Young-ki, chairman of Jecheon City Council, said, "For Jecheon City where forest land exceeds 70%, activation of forestry and wood industry is one of the urgent tasks."

Chairman Park stated, "We will seek ways for Jecheon City to develop the wood industry based on forestry management." He added, "We will also prepare carbon neutrality implementation plans using by-products of the wood industry."
