조길형 충주시장이 주민과의 현장 중심 소통 행보를 이어가고 있다. 조 시장은 지난 20일 저녁 연수동 동수경로당을 방문해 인근 한양하이츠빌라, 한양아파트 입주민 등과 시민과의 소통 간담회를 갖고 주민들의 생활 현안과 건의사항을 직접 청취했다.

이번 간담회는 시민과 함께 지역 발전 방향을 모색하고 생활 속 불편 사항을 해소하기 위해 마련된 자리로, 주민들이 평소 느낀 시정 제안이나 불편 사항을 격의 없이 나누며 자유롭게 대화하는 형식으로 진행됐다. 특히 주간 근무로 참여가 어려운 직장인과 맞벌이 가구의 의견을 듣기 위해 저녁 시간대에 개최돼 다양한 계층의 시민들이 함께할 수 있었다.

간담회에 참석한 주민들은 주차 공간 부족 해소를 위한 유휴부지 임시 주차장 조성, 노후 공동주택 시설 개선 지원, 야간 골목길 안전대책 강화, 가시박 등 생태계 교란 식물 제거 등 생활과 밀접한 다양한 의견을 직접 전했다.

주민들의 의견을 경청한 조길형 시장은 "주민들의 눈높이에서 현장에서 함께 고민을 나누고 해결 방안을 찾는 뜻깊은 시간이었다"라며, "시민의 목소리가 곧 시정의 방향이 될 수 있도록, 오늘 건의해 주신 불편 사항을 면밀히 살펴 개선될 수 있도록 노력하겠다"라고 말했다.

한편 시는 건의된 불편 사항에 대해 신속하게 현장을 확인하고, 즉시 조치가 가능한 사안은 즉각 개선하며, 예산 확보 등 검토가 필요한 사안은 담당 부서 검토를 거쳐 추진 경과를 시 누리집을 통해 공유할 방침이다.

Chungju Mayor Jo Gil-hyeong continues his field-oriented communication efforts with residents. On the evening of the 20th, Mayor Jo visited the Dongsu Senior Center in Yeonsu-dong and held a town hall meeting with residents from nearby Hanyang Heights Villa and Hanyang Apartment, directly listening to their concerns and suggestions about daily life issues.

This meeting was organized to explore directions for regional development together with citizens and address everyday inconveniences. It was conducted in an open dialogue format where residents could freely share their policy suggestions and complaints. Notably, the meeting was held in the evening to accommodate office workers and dual-income families who find it difficult to participate during regular working hours, allowing citizens from various backgrounds to join.

Residents who attended the meeting directly conveyed various opinions closely related to daily life, including the creation of temporary parking lots on idle land to address parking shortages, support for improving aging apartment facilities, strengthening safety measures for nighttime alleyways, and removal of invasive plant species such as burcucumber.

After listening to residents' opinions, Mayor Jo said, "It was a meaningful time to share concerns and find solutions together at the residents' eye level in the field," adding, "I will work to ensure that citizens' voices become the direction of city administration by carefully reviewing the issues raised today and making improvements."

Meanwhile, the city plans to promptly verify the suggested issues on-site, immediately address matters that can be resolved right away, and share progress updates through the city website for issues requiring budget allocation and departmental review.
