◆ 환경부 공모 선정...총 165억원 투입
옥천군이 환경부 '노후정수장 정비사업' 공모에 선정되어 총사업비 165억 4천만원을 투입해 옥천정수장 정비사업을 2026년부터 본격 추진한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 1992년에 준공된 옥천정수장의 노후화된 주요 시설을 개량·보강하여 안정적인 수돗물 공급체계를 구축하기 위한 것으로 사업 기간은 2026년부터 2028년까지 3년간이다. 총사업비 165억원 중 국비 82억 7천만원(50%), 도비 20억 6천 7백만원(12.5%) 군비 62억 3백만원(37.5%)이 투입된다.
◆ 2026년 12억원 국비 가내시...약품투입실·응집침전지 등 개량
2026년 사업비 중 12억 4천 1백만원의 국비가 현재 가내시되어 내년부터 실시설계 및 착공 준비가 진행될 예정이다. 주요 사업내용은 약품투입실, 응집·침전지, 찌꺼기 처리시설 등의 부분 개량 및 전면 개량이다. 군은 노후 설비의 부식과 도장면 탈락 등으로 인한 수질 저하 위험을 해소하고, 옥천·안남 간 비상연계 공급체계와 연계하여 지속 가능한 용수공급 기반을 강화할 예정이다.
◆ 김성남 소장 "수돗물 품질 향상 전환점"
김성남 옥천군 상하수도사업소장은 "이번 정수장 정비사업은 30년 이상 된 노후시설을 최신 정수공정으로 개선하는 핵심사업으로, 주민이 체감할 수 있는 수돗물 품질 향상과 급수 안정성 확보에 큰 전환점이 될 것"이라며 "2028년 완공을 목표로 차질 없는 추진에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
