◆ 송환자 64명, 20일 오전 3시 체포 시한 만료
캄보디아에서 온라인 범죄 혐의로 송환된 한국인 64명이 18일부터 이틀째 경찰 조사를 받고 있다. 이들은 18일 오전 8시35분 인천국제공항에 도착한 대한항공 KE9690 전세기편으로 입국했으며, 같은날 오전 3시 전세기 탑승 시점에 체포영장이 집행됐다. 형사소송법은 체포 후 48시간 이내 구속영장을 청구하도록 규정하고 있어, 경찰은 20일 오전 3시 전까지 청구 절차를 마쳐야 한다.
◆ 충남청 45명·경기북부청 15명 분산 조사
송환자들은 입국 직후 전국 경찰서로 분산됐다. 충남경찰청이 45명, 경기북부경찰청이 15명을 조사하며, 서울 서대문경찰서, 대전경찰청, 경기남부 김포경찰서, 강원 원주경찰서가 각 1명씩 담당한다. 이들은 캄보디아에서 보이스피싱과 로맨스스캠 등 온라인 범죄 혐의로 적발됐으며, 인터폴 적색수배가 내려진 인물도 포함됐다.
◆ 감금·협박 피해 가능성 수사…압수물 분석 진행
경찰은 송환자 일부가 감금·협박 등으로 범죄에 연루됐을 가능성도 수사한다. 가담 정도, 자금 흐름, 피해 규모, 조직 윗선과의 연계 여부 등을 종합해 구속 여부를 결정한다. 경찰은 캄보디아 당국으로부터 확보한 휴대전화 등 압수물을 분석하며, 일부 피의자에 대해서는 마약 투약 여부 확인을 위한 검사도 진행 중이다.
