◆ 17일 개장식·영천제·양로연 개최

청주시는 제19회 세종대왕과 초정약수축제가 17일 청원구 내수읍 초정행궁 일원에서 개막했다고 밝혔다. 시는 17일 오전 10시 개장식을 시작으로 19일까지 3일간 축제를 진행한다. 개장식에는 이범석 청주시장, 김현기 청주시의장, 내수 주민단체 관계자 등이 참석했다. 초정영천 앞에서는 이범석 시장이 초헌관을 맡아 영천제를 거행했고, 내수읍과 북이면 어르신 160여명을 모시고 양로연을 가졌다.

◆ 3일간 다채로운 공연·어가행렬 재현

행사장 주무대와 보조무대에서는 청풍명월 가요한마당, 세종대왕 마당극, 개막 퍼포먼스, 개막축하 콘서트, 불꽃놀이 등이 진행됐다. 18일에는 청주시 홍보대사 윤서령·황윤성·염유리의 특별 공연, 역사 스토리텔러 썬킴의 특강, 국가무형문화재 권원태 명인의 줄타기 공연이 이어진다. 19일에는 자전거 탄 풍경, 동물원, 여행스케치가 무대에 올라 포크송 공연을 선보인다. 10월 11일에는 어가행렬 퍼레이드를 청주 성안길에서 선보였고, 18일에도 초정행궁 일원에서 재현된다.

◆ 축제 후 초정치유마을 무료 체험

축제장에서 촬영한 사진이나 SNS 인증을 제시하면 10월 28일부터 10월 30일까지 초정치유마을의 치유 프로그램을 무료로 체험할 수 있다. 이범석 청주시장은 "청주 초정은 세계 3대 광천수로 유명한 초정약수가 있는 곳으로, 세종대왕께서 이곳에서 눈병을 치료하고 한글 창제를 마무리한 장소"라며 "그 가치를 알리기 위해 모든 세대가 즐기고 소통하는 화합의 장으로 행사를 기획했다"고 밝혔다.

Cheongju City announced that the 19th King Sejong and Chojeong Mineral Water Festival opened on the 17th at the Chojeong Haenggung area in Naesu-eup, Cheongwon-gu. The city will hold the festival for three days until the 19th, starting with the opening ceremony at 10 AM on the 17th. Cheongju Mayor Lee Beom-seok, Cheongju City Council Chairman Kim Hyun-gi, and Naesu residents' organization officials attended the opening ceremony. Mayor Lee served as the chief officiant and conducted Youngcheonje in front of Chojeong Youngcheon, and Yangnoyeon was held with about 160 elderly people from Naesu-eup and Buki-myeon.

◆ Diverse performances and royal procession reenactment for 3 days

Performances including Cheongpungmyeongwol Song Festival, King Sejong Yard Play, opening performance, opening celebration concert, and fireworks were held on the main and auxiliary stages. On the 18th, special performances by Cheongju City ambassadors Yoon Seo-ryeong, Hwang Yoon-seong, and Yeom Yu-ri, a special lecture by history storyteller Sun Kim, and a tightrope walking performance by National Intangible Cultural Heritage master Kwon Won-tae will follow. On the 19th, Bicycle Scenery, Zoo, and Travel Sketch will present folk song performances. A royal procession parade was presented on Cheongju Seongan-gil on October 11, and will be reenacted in the Chojeong Haenggung area on the 18th.

◆ Free Chojeong Healing Village experience after festival

If you present a photo taken at the festival venue or SNS verification, you can experience healing programs at Chojeong Healing Village for free from October 28 to October 30. Cheongju Mayor Lee Beom-seok stated, "Cheongju Chojeong is where the famous Chojeong mineral water, one of the world's three major mineral waters, is located, and it is a meaningful place where King Sejong treated his eye disease and completed the creation of Hangeul," adding, "We planned the event as a place of harmony where all generations can enjoy and communicate to promote its value."
