괴산군, 설우산 자연휴양림 조성사업 본격화 .사진 /괴삱군
14일 착수보고회 개최
충북 괴산군이 92억원을 투입해 소수면 고마리 일원 46ha에 설우산 자연휴양림을 조성한다.
군은 14일 군청 회의실에서 사업부서 공무원, 마을 이장, 용역사 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 '설우산 자연휴양림 기본 및 실시설계용역 착수보고회'를 열었다고 밝혔다.
2026년부터 3년간 공사
사업은 2029년까지 5년간 진행된다. 내년 4월까지 기본 및 실시설계를 마무리하고, 2026년부터 2029년까지 3년간 공사를 추진한다.
휴양림에는 숲속의 집, 산림문화휴양관, 방문자센터, 산책로, 잔디마당, 정원, 캡슐하우스, 사계절 온수풀 등이 들어선다. 산림바이오매스를 활용한 친환경 난방 시스템도 도입한다.
치유·교육·체험 복합공간 조성
군은 이날 보고회에서 휴양림의 설계 방향과 공간 구성, 시설 배치 계획 등을 점검했다. 군은 산림치유와 교육, 체험이 어우러지는 복합 공간으로 조성할 방침이다.
설우산은 인근 산막이옛길, 숲교육체험단지 등과 연계할 수 있는 관광 자원이다. 군은 이번 사업으로 부족했던 숙박 인프라를 보완해 체류형 관광 기반을 강화한다는 계획이다.
송인헌 군수는 "설우산 자연휴양림은 괴산의 대표 산림자원을 활용한 체류형 산림휴양 거점이 될 것"이라며 "교육과 체험, 치유를 함께 누릴 수 있는 복합 생태문화공간으로 조성하겠다"고 말했다.

Goesan County in North Chungcheong Province will invest 9.2 billion won to develop the Seolwoo Mountain Natural Recreation Forest on a 46-hectare site in Goma-ri, Sosu-myeon.
The county held a kickoff meeting for the basic and detailed design service on October 14 at the county office conference room, attended by project department officials, village heads, and service contractors, according to the county.
Three-Year Construction from 2026
The project will run for five years until 2029. The county will complete the basic and detailed design by April next year and conduct construction for three years from 2026 to 2029.
The recreation forest will include forest houses, a forest culture recreation center, a visitor center, walking trails, lawns, gardens, capsule houses, and a four-season heated pool. The county will also introduce an eco-friendly heating system using forest biomass.
Complex Space for Healing, Education, Experience
The county reviewed the design direction, spatial composition, and facility layout plan at the meeting. The county plans to develop the site as a complex space combining forest healing, education, and experience.
Seolwoo Mountain is a tourism resource that can be linked with nearby Sanmaki Old Trail and the Forest Education Experience Complex. The county plans to strengthen the stay-type tourism base by supplementing the lacking accommodation infrastructure through this project.
County Governor Song In-heon said, "Seolwoo Mountain Natural Recreation Forest will become a stay-type forest recreation hub utilizing Goesan's representative forest resources," adding, "We will develop it as a complex eco-cultural space where people can enjoy education, experience, and healing together."
