충남도가 서해선 열차를 활용한 관광상품 개발에 속도를 내고 있다.
충남도와 충남문화관광재단은 11월 1일 '충남 투어패스로 떠나는 힐링 당진여행' 2회차 참가자를 모집한다고 13일 밝혔다. 지난달 27일 1차 상품이 조기 매진되는 등 큰 호응을 얻자 재차 선보이는 것이다.
이번 관광상품은 '2025∼2026 충남 방문의 해'를 맞아 당진시, 코레일관광개발과 손잡고 기획됐다. 서해선 열차 왕복 티켓과 충남 투어패스, 당진 시티투어버스를 하나로 묶은 패키지 형태다.
가격은 2만800원이다. 참가자는 서화성역 등 수도권 역에서 출발해 당진 합덕역에서 하차한 뒤 관광 가이드의 안내에 따라 시티투어버스로 당진 일원을 둘러보게 된다.
코스는 1회차보다 알찬 구성으로 짰다. 3대째 90년 넘게 전통 막걸리를 빚어온 신평양조장을 시작으로 삽교호 함상공원, 해양테마체험관, 아미미술관, 면천읍성을 거쳐 합덕 전통시장까지 총 7곳을 무료로 이용할 수 있다. 충남 투어패스 가맹점에선 할인 혜택도 받는다.
예약은 코레일관광개발 누리집(korailtravel.com)에서 가능하다. 좌석은 70석 한정이어서 조기 마감될 가능성이 크다는 게 재단 측 설명이다.
도 관계자는 "서해선 개통으로 수도권에서 당진까지 접근성이 크게 개선됐다"며 "앞으로도 열차와 투어패스를 연계한 다양한 관광상품을 지속 운영해 충남의 숨은 매력을 알리겠다"고 밝혔다.
충남도는 올해와 내년을 '충남 방문의 해'로 지정하고 대규모 관광객 유치에 나서고 있다. 서해선을 활용한 관광상품 개발은 이 같은 전략의 핵심 사업 중 하나로 꼽힌다.

This is the second time they are presenting it after the first product sold out early on the 27th of last month, receiving great response.
This tourism product was planned in partnership with Dangjin City and Korail Tourism Development to mark the '2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year'. It is a package that combines round-trip tickets for the West Sea Line train, Chungnam Tour Pass, and Dangjin City Tour Bus.
The price is 20,800 won. Participants depart from stations in the metropolitan area such as Seohwasung Station, get off at Dangjin Hapdeok Station, and then tour Dangjin with a city tour bus guided by a tour guide.
The course is more substantial than the first round. Starting with Sinpyeong Brewery, which has been brewing traditional makgeolli for over 90 years for three generations, you can use a total of 7 places for free, including Sapgyoho Floating Park, Marine Theme Experience Center, Ami Art Museum, Myeoncheon-Eupseong, and Hapdeok Traditional Market. You also receive discounts at Chungnam Tour Pass affiliated stores.
Reservations are available on the Korail Tourism Development website (korailtravel.com). The foundation explains that there is a high possibility of early closure as seats are limited to 70.
A provincial official said, "With the opening of the West Sea Line, accessibility from the metropolitan area to Dangjin has greatly improved," and "We will continue to operate various tourism products that link trains and tour passes to promote the hidden charms of Chungnam."
Meanwhile, Chungnam Province has designated this year and next year as the 'Visit Chungnam Year' and is working to attract large-scale tourists. The development of tourism products using the West Sea Line is considered one of the core projects of this strategy.
