◆ 90세 어르신 후원금 100만 원 기탁
충남 천안시는 입장면에 살고 있는 90세 어르신이 이웃을 위해 후원금 100만 원을 기탁했다고 12일 밝혔다. 유병일 어르신은 이날 입장면 행정복지센터를 찾아 자필로 쓴 편지와 함께 따뜻한 마음을 전달했다. 이번에 전달된 후원금은 충남사회복지공동모금회에 전달돼 저소득가정 아동 5명에게 지원될 예정이다.
◆ "어려운 아이들 보며 옛 모습 떠올라 눈물"
유 어르신은 편지에서 "나이 90살에 기초연금만으로 15년을 살고 있는 사람이지만, TV에 나오는 형편이 어려운 아이들을 보며 나의 옛 모습을 보는 것 같아 눈물이 났다"고 밝혔다. 유 어르신은 "적은 돈이지만 어려운 아이들에게 보탬이 되길 바란다"고 전했다. 이창희 면장은 "어려운 여건 속에서도 선행을 실천한 어르신의 선한 영향력이 널리 퍼지길 바란다"며 "후원금은 취약계층들을 위해 값지게 사용할 것"이라고 말했다.

◆ 90-year-old donates 1 million won
Cheonan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on January 12 that a 90-year-old resident living in Ipjang-myeon donated 1 million won for neighbors in need. Mr. Yoo Byung-il visited the Ipjang-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and delivered his warm heart along with a handwritten letter. The donation will be delivered to the South Chungcheong Community Chest of Korea and will support five children from low-income families.
◆ "Tears came seeing struggling children"
Mr. Yoo wrote in his letter "I am a 90-year-old person who has lived for 15 years on basic pension alone, but tears came when I saw struggling children on TV as it reminded me of my past." He added "Although it is a small amount, I hope it helps children in difficulty." Ipjang-myeon Mayor Lee Chang-hee stated "I hope the good influence of this elder who practiced good deeds despite difficult circumstances spreads widely. The donation will be used valuably for vulnerable groups."
