청주시 상당구 지북동 도로변에 세워둔 47인승 통근버스에서 불이 나 버스 전체가 타는 피해가 발생했다. 인명피해는 없었으며, 경찰과 소방 당국이 정확한 화재 원인을 조사하고 있다.​

◆ 통근버스 화재 발생

12일 오전 5시 14분께 충북 청주시 상당구 지북동 도로변에 주차된 47인승 통근버스에서 불이 났다. 이 불로 버스가 전소해 소방서 추산 1억 3000만 원의 재산 피해가 발생했다.​

◆ 진화 상황과 피해 규모

소방 당국은 신고를 받고 출동해 약 15분 만에 화재를 진화했다. 불로 버스가 모두 불에 탔지만 인명피해는 발생하지 않았다.​

◆ 운전자 진술과 조사

운전자 A씨는 출근을 위해 시동을 여러 차례 걸던 중 차량 후면부에서 화염이 치솟는 것을 보고 119에 신고했다고 밝혔다. 경찰과 소방 당국은 버스 화재 경위를 포함한 정확한 원인을 조사하고 있다.​

◆ Commuter bus catches fire

At about 5:14 a.m. on the 12th, a fire broke out on a 47-seat commuter bus parked along a roadside in Jibuk-dong, Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province. The blaze burned the entire bus and caused an estimated 130 million won in property damage, according to fire authorities.​

◆ Fire extinguished, no casualties

Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 15 minutes after receiving the emergency call. No casualties were reported despite the bus being completely destroyed.​

◆ Driver’s statement, probe

The driver, identified only by the surname A, told authorities that he tried several times to start the engine for work when flames suddenly shot up from the rear of the vehicle, prompting him to call emergency services. Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.​
