◆ 현장 중심 행정 강조

오세현 아산시장은 5일 시청 상황실에서 열린 1월 확대간부회의에서 "2026년 아산시가 다시 한번 도약하는 전환점이 돼야 한다"고 현장 중심의 행정과 속도감 있는 업무 추진을 강조했다. 오 시장은 "대한민국과 아산시 모두 지난해가 대전환의 시기였다면 올해는 도약의 해"라며 "실·국·소장과 읍면동장이 각자의 분야에서 아산시장이라는 각오로 시정을 이끌어 달라"고 했다.

기초자치단체의 현장 문제 해결 역할을 강조한 오 시장은 "정책과 제도를 만드는 것보다 현장에서 시민의 문제를 직접 해결하는 것이 기초단체의 보람이자 가장 큰 강점"이라고 말했다.

무인민원발급기 설치, 교통시설 개선, CCTV 등 시민 생활과 직결된 사업들을 예로 든 오 시장은 "전년도에 어렵게 예산을 확보한 만큼 1월부터 속도를 내 시민이 체감할 수 있도록 해야 한다"고 거듭 강조했다.

◆ 광역 행정통합 대비

오 시장은 충남과 대전의 행정통합에 대한 선제적 대응을 지시했다. 그는 "광역 행정통합은 행정부 수반의 결정과 국회의 입법이라는 두 전제가 충족돼야 하는데 충남과 대전의 상황은 실현 가능성이 높아졌다"고 분석했다.

"통합이 현실화될 경우 아산시에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 각종 특례를 적극 발굴해 특별법에 반영해야 한다"고 당부했다. 아울러 도시재생사업 등 장기 사업은 현장 안내판과 시각자료를 통해 시민 이해와 협조를 이끌어야 한다고 말했다.
