◆ 2025년 역대급 성장, 충남 군부 투자유치 1위 달성

예산군이 5일 군청 대회의실에서 신년 언론인 간담회를 개최했다. 최재구 예산군수와 부서장, 언론인이 참석한 이번 간담회에서 군은 2025년 주요 성과를 공유하고 2026년 운영 방향을 제시했다.

예산군은 2025년 기업 투자유치, 교통망 확충, 관광 활성화, 인구 증가 등 전 분야에서 의미 있는 성과를 거뒀다. 최근 3년간 21개 기업으로부터 1조5049억원 규모의 투자를 유치해 충남도 내 군부 1위를 기록했다. 셀트리온과 3000억원 규모 투자협약을 체결했으며, 40.5만평 규모 그린바이오산업 육성지구를 지정해 미래 성장 기반을 다졌다.

◆ 교통·관광 분야 주요 성과, 인구·출산율도 도내 1위

교통 분야에서 예산군은 서부내륙고속도로를 개통했으며 서해선·장항선 복선전철을 동시 개통했다. 이로 인해 수도권 접근 시간이 45분대로 단축됐다. 내포역 착공과 서해선-경부선 KTX 연결 사업 예비타당성조사 통과로 충남 서북부 교통 중심지로 도약 중이다.

관광 분야에서 예당호 출렁다리는 누적 방문객 970만명, 예산상설시장은 900만명을 돌파했다. 예산장터 삼국축제는 6년 연속 대한민국 축제콘텐츠 대상을 수상했다. 인구는 4년 연속 증가로 82,727명을 기록했으며, 합계출산율 1.05명으로 도내 군부 1위를 달성했다.

지방자치단체 생산성 대상 전국 1위 대통령상, 청렴도 평가 9년 연속 우수등급 유지 등 행정 역량도 대외적으로 인정받았다. 2026년 일반회계 예산은 8549억원으로 역대 최대 규모를 편성했다.

◆ 2026년 '완성의 해', 농생명 산업과 관광 고도화에 집중

예산군은 2026년을 민선8기 완성의 해로 정하고 농생명 융복합산업 클러스터 조성, 관광 거점 고도화, 전 세대 맞춤형 복지 강화, 선진 농업 기반 구축, 원도심 활성화와 내포신도시 동반 성장을 중점 추진한다.

주요 사업으로는 그린바이오 벤처캠퍼스와 메디푸드 연구지원센터 조성 등 농생명 융복합산업 클러스터(1093억원), 구 충남방적 부지를 활용한 K-773 문화복합단지 조성(1681억원), 덕산온천 휴양마을 조성 및 고품격 숙박시설 조기 착공, 예당호 권역 체류형 관광상품 개발, 스마트팜 단지 조성 및 귀농인 인큐베이팅센터 구축, 원도심 활성화 프로젝트와 내포역세권 개발 등이 포함됐다.

복지 분야에서는 아동수당을 9세 미만까지 월 11만원으로 확대하고, 95세 이상 장수 어르신 축하물품을 지원하는 등 생애주기별 맞춤형 복지 정책을 강화할 계획이다.

최재구 군수는 "2026년은 민선8기의 마지막 해이자 그동안 추진해 온 사업들이 결실을 맺는 완성의 해"라며 "군민이 일상에서 변화를 체감할 수 있도록 마지막까지 혼신의 힘을 다하겠다"고 말했다. 이어 "건강한 예산, 안전한 예산, 재난 재해가 없는 예산을 만들기 위해 전 공직자가 한마음으로 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

Yesan County achieved meaningful results across all sectors in 2025, including corporate investment attraction, expansion of transportation networks, tourism activation, and population growth. Over the past three years, it has attracted 1.5049 trillion won in investments from 21 companies, ranking first among county-level municipalities in South Chungcheong Province. It signed a 300 billion won investment agreement with Celltrion and designated a 405,000-pyeong scale Green Bio Industry Development Zone, laying the foundation for future growth.

◆ Major Achievements in Transportation and Tourism, Ranking First in Population and Birth Rate in Province

In the transportation sector, Yesan County opened the Western Inland Expressway and simultaneously opened the Seohae Line and Janghang Line double-track railways. This shortened access time to the Seoul metropolitan area to the 45-minute range. Following the groundbreaking of Naipo Station and the passage of preliminary feasibility study for the Seohae Line-Gyeongbu Line KTX connection project, Yesan is advancing as a transportation hub in northwestern South Chungcheong Province.

In tourism, the Yedam Lake Suspension Bridge accumulated 9.7 million visitors, and Yesan Traditional Market surpassed 9 million visitors. Yesan Market Samguk Festival won the Republic of Korea Festival Content Award for six consecutive years. Population increased for four consecutive years, reaching 82,727, and achieved a total fertility rate of 1.05, ranking first among county-level municipalities in the province.

The county's administrative capacity was recognized externally, winning the Presidential Award for No. 1 national ranking in local government productivity and maintaining excellent ratings for nine consecutive years in integrity evaluation. The 2026 general account budget was set at 854.9 billion won, the largest scale ever.

◆ 2026 'Year of Completion', Focusing on Agri-Bio Industry and Tourism Enhancement

Yesan County designated 2026 as the 'year of completion' for its eighth civilian government term, prioritizing the formation of agri-bio convergence industry cluster, tourism hub advancement, customized welfare for all generations, construction of advanced agricultural foundation, and balanced growth of the original city center with the Naipo new city.

Major projects include the formation of agri-bio convergence industry cluster (109.3 billion won) featuring the Green Bio Venture Campus and MediFood Research Support Center, development of K-773 Cultural Complex (168.1 billion won) using the former Chungnam Spinning Factory site, early construction of Deoksan Hot Spring Resort Village and high-end lodging facilities, development of stay-type tourism products in the Yedam Lake area, smart farm complex development and establishment of an incubating center for returning farmers, original downtown activation project, and Naipo Station area development.

In the welfare sector, the county plans to strengthen customized welfare policies by life cycle, including expanding child allowances to 11,000 won per month for children under 9 years old and providing celebration gifts to residents aged 95 and over.

County Governor Choi Jae-gu stated, "2026 is the final year of the eighth civilian government term and the year of completion when the projects pursued so far bear fruit. We will devote our utmost efforts until the end so that residents can feel the changes in their daily lives." He added, "All public officials will do their best with one heart to create a healthy Yesan, a safe Yesan, and a Yesan free from disasters."
