서곡숙 청주대 교수 한국영화평론가협회 제29대 회장 선출

청주대학교 영화영상학과 서곡숙 교수가 ㈔한국영화평론가협회 제29대 회장에 선출됐다. 협회는 28일 서울 종로구 대학로교회에서 정기총회를 열고 서 교수를 신임 회장으로 선출했다. 서 교수는 재적 회원 과반수 이상 동의를 얻었다.

서 교수는 한국영화교육학회 부회장, 한국영화학회 학문후속세대양성위원회 위원장, 계간지 '크리티크 M' 편집위원장을 역임했다. 부산국제영화제, 전주국제영화제, 부천국제영화제, 대종상 심사위원으로도 활동했다.

서곡숙 신임 회장은 "영화 예술작품을 깊이 분석하고 전문성 있는 관점으로 가치를 평가해 대중에게 새로운 해석을 제시하겠다"며 "한국영화산업이 위기를 극복하고 도약하는 데 이바지하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Professor Seo Gok-sook of Cheongju University Elected 29th President of Korea Film Critics Association

Professor Seo Gok-sook of Cheongju University's Department of Film and Visual Media was elected the 29th president of the Korea Film Critics Association. The association held a general meeting at Daehakro Church in Jongno-gu, Seoul on December 28 and elected Professor Seo as the new president. Professor Seo received approval from more than half of the registered members.

Professor Seo served as vice president of the Korean Film Education Society, chairman of the Next Generation Development Committee of the Korean Film Society, and editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine 'Critique M.' She also served as a jury member at the Busan International Film Festival, Jeonju International Film Festival, Bucheon International Film Festival, and Grand Bell Awards.

New President Seo Gok-sook stated, "I will deeply analyze film artworks and evaluate their value from a professional perspective to present new interpretations to the public. I will contribute to helping the Korean film industry overcome its crisis and leap forward."
