◆ 정책토론회 개최, AI와 인성의 균형 논의

충북도의회 교육위원회는 12월 17일 의회 대회의실에서 정책토론회를 열었다. 토론회 주제는 'AI 시대, 인성교육 방향 모색'이다. 토론회는 인공지능과 공존하는 사회에서 필요한 인성교육 방향을 논의했다. 김정일 의원(청주3)이 좌장을 맡았다. 류지헌 전남대학교 교육학과 교수가 발제했다.

◆ "윤리적 판단과 사회적 공감이 핵심"

류 교수는 발제에서 인공지능 시대 인성교육의 중요성을 강조했다. 그는 "인공지능이라는 새로운 교육 환경에서 책임 있는 창의성이 중요하다"고 말했다. 그는 "이 과정에서 중요한 것은 윤리적 판단과 사회적 공감"이라고 덧붙였다. 류 교수는 "충북형 AI 윤리기준에 정책적 실천방안을 보완하여 실효성을 제고할 것"을 제안했다.

토론에 참여한 나재준 양업고등학교 교사는 "인공지능 시대 학교 인성교육은 교과수업, 평가, 학교 규정 속으로 구조화되어야 한다"고 밝혔다. 백지영 용암초등학교 운영위원장은 "학부모도 인공지능 시대 인성교육의 동반자가 되어야 한다"고 강조했다. 이현준 인성교육범국민실천연합 사무총장은 "학생 개개인의 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 인성교육을 제공해야 한다"고 제안했다. 전미영 2M인재개발원 대표는 "교육과정 개편과 교사 전문성 강화가 필요하다"고 말했다.

◆ 도교육청과 도의회, 정책 반영 적극 추진

최선미 충청북도교육청 인성시민과장은 "인공지능 시대 인성교육의 중요성에 적극 공감한다"며 "토론회에서 논의된 의견들을 충청북도교육청의 인성교육 정책 마련에 적극 반영할 것"이라고 밝혔다. 김정일 의원은 "인공지능을 사용하는 주체는 결국 사람이고 인공지능이 생산하는 정보에 대한 가치판단과 윤리적 책임은 사람의 몫"이라며 "토론회에서 나온 의견들을 도교육청과 함께 적극 검토해 인성교육 정책에 최대한 반영하도록 힘쓰겠다"고 했다.

◆ Policy Forum Launched to Balance AI and Character Education

The Education Committee of the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Council held a policy forum on December 17 at the council's main conference room. The forum's theme was "Exploring Directions for Character Education in the Age of AI." The forum discussed character education necessary for living in a society that coexists with artificial intelligence. Kim Jeong-il (Cheongju District 3) chaired the forum. Ryu Ji-heon, professor of education at Chonnam National University, delivered the keynote address.

◆ "Ethical Judgment and Social Empathy Are Core Elements"

Professor Ryu emphasized the importance of character education in the age of artificial intelligence in his keynote address. He stated, "In a new educational environment created by artificial intelligence, responsible creativity is important." He added, "What is important in this process is ethical judgment and social empathy." Professor Ryu proposed, "We will supplement policy implementation methods in the Chungbuk-type AI ethical standards to enhance effectiveness."

Discussants who participated in the forum included Na Jae-jun, a teacher at Yangup High School, who stated, "Character education in schools in the age of artificial intelligence must be structured within curriculum, evaluation, and school regulations." Baek Ji-young, chairperson of the operating committee at Yongam Elementary School, emphasized, "Parents must become partners in character education in the age of artificial intelligence." Lee Hyun-jun, secretary general of the Nationwide Alliance for Character Education Practice, proposed, "Customized character education tailored to each student's individual characteristics must be provided." Jeon Mi-young, CEO of 2M Talent Development Institute, stated, "Curriculum reform and strengthening of teacher expertise are necessary."

◆ Provincial Education Office and Provincial Council Actively Implement Policy Reflections

Choi Sun-mi, head of the Character and Citizenship Division of the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Office of Education, stated, "I actively agree with the importance of character education in the age of artificial intelligence," and added, "We will actively reflect the opinions discussed at the forum in the development of character education policies at the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Office of Education." Kim Jeong-il remarked, "The subject that uses artificial intelligence is ultimately human, and the value judgment regarding information produced by artificial intelligence and ethical responsibility ultimately fall on humans. We will actively review the opinions raised at the forum together with the provincial education office and make every effort to reflect them in character education policies."
