부지는 한국철도공사 소유지와 음성군유지를 활용하며, 부지 정리와 골재 포설을 통해 주차 공간을 확보하고 이용객 혼란 방지를 위한 안내표지판 설치도 포함된다. 음성군은 안전관리 아래 공사를 진행해 12월 말까지 모든 공정을 마치고 주차장을 무료로 개방할 계획이며, 역사 앞 택시 승강장 승하차 구획 노면 표기를 새롭게 정비해 주민과 방문객 모두가 음성역을 더 쾌적하고 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성한다.
임시 공영주차장 완공 시 음성역 이용객의 주차 불편이 크게 줄어들 것으로 전망되며, 인근 지역 주차난 완화에도 도움이 될 것으로 예상된다.
