◆ 3명 피의자 입건

윤영호 전 통일교 세계본부장이 특검팀에 함께 거명한 국민의힘 나경원 의원과 정동영 전 통일부 장관에 대해서는 별다른 혐의가 발견되지 않아 입건하지 않았다. 특별전담수사팀은 전날 구속 상태로 서울구치소에 수용된 윤영호 전 본부장을 찾아가 3시간가량 접견 조사했다. 특별전담수사팀은 윤 전 본부장의 특검 수사 및 법정 진술을 재확인하며 의혹의 신빙성을 검토했다. 금품의 대가성 여부에 따라 정치자금법 위반 또는 뇌물 수수 혐의 적용이 달라질 수 있어 관련 진술을 재차 확인한 것으로 알려졌다.
◆ 향후 수사 방향
경찰은 수사 기록과 윤 전 본부장 진술을 토대로 조만간 강제수사를 통한 증거물 확보에 나설 전망이다. 특별전담수사팀은 국민의힘이 민중기 특검과 수사팀을 직무유기 혐의로 고발한 사건도 서울경찰청으로부터 넘겨받아 수사에 착수했다.

◆ 3 Persons Booked as Suspects

The Special Investigation Team also received and began investigating the case in which the People Power Party filed charges against Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki and the investigation team for dereliction of duty in connection with the Unification Church allegations from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
